We normally bring them in late in the window as if they start early some usual absolute donkey (probably Michael Keane in this scenario) clatters them before they can even kick a ball for us.

I can see us signing several players this summer to expand the squad ranging from free transfers to around 15-20 mil. Similar to how we have just signed Alcaraz for 12.5 mil.

I don’t think there will be a big marquee signing player unless Branthwaite leaves.

I think it's a strategy based on waiting for the biggest teams to make their big splashes first and then picking up players who are starting to worry if they'll find a good situation before the window closes, when their salary (and the teams' transfer fee request) might come down. We're bargain hunting.
