3 goials last season from Doucs selected most weeks - Alcaraz 2 goals in a handful of appearances?I was never a Doucoure basher.
If Alcaraz gets as many important goals for us as Doucoure did he'll have done well for himself.
You mean the PSR rules that they make up as they go along?I wonder how an option plays out under PSR?
Like a lot of our players over the last 5-10-15 years... Good at a few things, awful at many others. We can carry one or 2 like this, but all too often, we've had 8 or 9 players like this.Doucoure got himself into a lot of good positions is the other way to view it.
Doucoure got through a hell of a lot of hard work for Everton. His work rate will be missed.
NO!Stop the bed wetting y'all now please.
End of the day none of our recent issues have been caused by contracts being too short, but plenty caused by contracts that are too long. It’s not a mishap or negligence. There will a reason we don’t know. Can’t always just say “stupid club, stupid decision.”
Kinnear has been in around football, Moyes has bought and sold dozens of players. We will have a finance team that actual knows how to work out PSR (unlike Ingles), TFG are not new to football contracts. Even our senior players would have gone “ why on earth only 2 years?”
We are getting a good player for sod all (relatively). Could be many reasons. E.g. a sell on due to Flamengo triggered either by sale or fresh contract. Them forcing 2 years gives them this money quicker, and may have helped negotiate the crazy low price. We can’t keep assuming we are stupid forever.
The goal against Bournemouth alone is probably one of our most important goals in recent history. There's a fair few influential ones in the season after, too...How many important goals did doucoure get for us? What qualifies as important? Please identify each one.
And does this mean you’re discounting assists as important because doucoure’s passing was woeful? Or shall we settle on goal contributions?
