Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

If Wirtz is supposedly worth 125 mil then the market is going to be insane this summer

Anything less than 60 mil for Branthwaite simply has to be rejected
We’re not coming close to replacing a talent like JB for that kind of money.

Blue glasses or not, he has the potential to be among the best in the country for years to come.

And we’ve got enough players to recruit as it is.

Double the amount you quoted and see how much they really want him then.

£60mil ???

If TFG sell our best player for £60mil while its been made public that contracts were offered for the dreadful players on our books...then what even is the point?

£60mil? Double it.
The world record transfer fee for a defender is 80 mil

I think it is completely unrealistic to think that we would get a world record transfer fee for Branthwaite. Tarkowski has a better rating than him this season and he was a free signing.

If Huijsen went for 50 mil then I think teams are only going to pay around that figure for a young highly rated defender in this current market

Huijsen had a release clause. If they don’t want to pay what he’s worth to us then he goes nowhere. He has 3 years left on his contract.

Much less worried about him leaving this summer than last. One thing about Moyes is he never wants to let his best players leave

I’m pretty sure the media have stated that we have told clubs his valuation is around the 60 mil figure

If Chelsea’s interest is genuine then I wouldnt be suprised to see them make an offer for Branthwaite which could be worth up to 80 mil with probably a sell on fee agreed as well. I don’t think we would reject that offer.
Yeah, no chance we'd reject it especially with O'Brien here who is obviously his long term replacement.

It would be nice if we were able to demand £100m for him. Maguire was over £80m and had nowhere near the potential of Branthwaite. He was bought at 26 years of age, whereas is currently only 22, soon to be 23. The only hope would be some kind of bidding war.

I really hope we don't end up accepting crap reject players and a lower amount of money in exchange for him.

The dream obviously would be to keep him.

Again, what is the relevance of a "record transfer fee" to Jarrad Branthwaite? Or a release clause for a Huijsen?

Two totally unrelated points to a player that is not for sale and should be signing an extension soon.

How is O'Brien Branthwaites long term replacement?

That makes no sense to me.

He's Tarkowski's long term replacement who can also play RB.

Baena gave a tearful good bye to the fans after his last game and is all but signed with athletico. You can rest assured he never thought he was coming to Everton

I heard of the Atletico rumours, didnt know a deal was done.

But the point was that we were looking at those two. Which i think would probably be correct based on the source.

Not who i would sign but Baena is quality. Pino though would somehow need to get back to his upward trajectory and it looks unlikely.

I believe he was bought last summer in the expectation that Branthwaite would be sold.

Just so happened that nobody came to us with an offer to blow our socks off, and he stayed. Club is probably bracing itself for more realistic others this summer than £40m or whatever was offered last time.

But yes, he should be JT's replacement probably from 2026/27. I do think he'll ultimately turn out to be JB's though, and then we'll bring in another CB who will inevitably take JT's place in 2 seasons' time.

What I really want is a long-term, or at least 2-3 seasons of JOB and JB together.

….whether Branthwaite leaves or not will not be down to TFG or David Moyes, it’ll most likely be down to Branthwaite.

If Branthwaite wants to leave, he’ll go. Thats generally the way of things in the modern game. I’d be more confident about him wanting to stay had he signed a new deal. There’s always the possibility that he’s eyeing a Bosman, very nice for him if he is.
