Never forget...

The only way this ever goes away is the day they take ownership (which will never happen)
Rotherham claiming its a stain on the city yesterday was pure denial on his part.
39 innocent people dead - Juventus families suffered the tragedy in full.

Everton (four european campaigns), Wimbledon, Luton Town , Coventry City, Oxford Utd, Norwich and others suffered the fallout
Financially and in terms of moving their teams forward.

LFC got off scott free.

@Iana followed that link to the murder in Brussels.
Albert Neuckermans who shot a 19 year old kid in the back did 12 months for it. Incredible. Used a rifle to repeatedly shoot down a street, guilty of 'intentional homicide' admitted it, got given 3 years with 2/3 off. That is a lapse attitude to gun crime in Belgium right there.

I see, so they blamed Roma fans as well as Chelsea fans, and said we felt self pity for missing out on Europe.
I think we felt sorrow for Juventus fans followed by bitterness, never self pity, that's more for them.

Biggest pile of shabite I’ve ever read, but still as patronising and blaming just about everyone & everything but themselves for the atrocities they perpetrated that awful day. Zero ownership throughout, exactly why they don’t care and airbrush.

I really like any part where the big tart acts like a Poundland Billy Bright from the football factory, and had Juve fans & police crapping themselves in terror at his hard man act.

You shamed this city.

He has the brass neck to say there had never been any trouble in the 21 prior seasons in Europe…ransacked shop owners might disagree.

There’s a couple of interesting comments BTL that he responds to as well.

One points out that trouble and mayhem follows them around wherever they go but never seems to happen to other clubs.

They conveniently ignore that UEFA, the governing body of football in Europe, once labelled Liverpool fans the worst in Europe - the scourge of towns and cities.

The elephant in the room is their self-fuelling belief of hardship, of always being wronged and never taking accountability for their own actions regardless of guilt.

Liverpool fan's reputation for hooliganism is built on their antics for over two decades prior to Heysel and events that came after. They still happen to this day.

Sadly, as I've said before, the city itself often follows the same path of self-pity; yes, there are often unfair assumptions, but many stand up to being questioned.

If you have the 'audacity' to mention those tragic events in 1985, you're hounded because they have no will or desire to take ownership for what happened.

The national news had a piece about the Bradford Stadium disaster a few weeks ago, whereas this event has gone unnoticed. Perhaps because it wasn't UK fans?

Or maybe because it's the darlings of the media, they choose not to poke the bear.

I posted a comment commemorating Heysel where I outlined the consequences of a "media loved club" and how its seldom mentioned and even dismissed by its fans. I never mentioned Luverpool, but focussed in the shame if that anonymous club. Within an hour I had zero former ex work colleague forming at ths mouth about me being a bitter blue. I congratulated him that his sensitivity and the feeling of shame that he exhibited in knowing I had written about his club, was unique to his fan base.
