2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Was always rushed back from injury because he was the only serviceable striker we had for years. Gets a fractured cheekbone fighting for the cause and gets booed. Love Dom and hope he stays but wouldn't blame him if he wanted a change of scene.
Do you love his appalling goal statistics or his appalling appearance statistics?

Not sure what you think a striker should do.

For me he thought the offers would come rolling in from a number of clubs and so far none have arrived, hence the change of agent and opening up discussions with the club again. For me unless he was taking a massive pay cut i wouldn't entertain plus it would be a short term deal. However if we can sign someone else before any agreement with him I'd bid him farewell.

Hope this doesn't drag on too much longer it's been a whole season of tedious will he won't he already, unlike Gana not overly arsed whether he signs or not.
I guess as long as the club, knows what's going on. They should have deadlines, so they can go for different options. Then it's not a worry, I imagine there are talks offering contracts to all the out of contract players, we haven't heard of?

People love big Dunc who struggled with fitness a lot of the time. One of my personal favorite players is Daniel amokachi, hardly prolific. Dom is an honest kid who tried his best everytime he pulled on an Everton shirt, put his body on the line for the team. I'll be happy if he chooses to stay.

I'm sure it won't, but technically it could drag till 30th June when his contract officially ends.

I get we ideally want to reduce the number of players we need to bring in as it's already high, but don't see why we should be bending over backwards for DCL, putting aside any other off field issues, he really hasn't done much to justify the terms he's currently on.

We should really just be offering what what we think he's worth and if he doesn't fancy it he can sling his hook, there doesn't appear to be a massive queue of clubs anyway.

I hope we don`t offer him any deal even if we have no replacement lined up. These days clubs are looking to offer players new deals well before they are coming into their last year of their contracts so that if they want to move on the club can at least recoup some money for them. When players let their contract run down they have obviously been looking to move on and as has happened to DCL it seems there`s no interest for him. If no one else is clambering around for his signature I don`t want us to sign him even for the short term.

Well said Mickey, spot on

DCL’s people seem to absolutely hate us for some unknown reason.
Constant grief over the modelling from the drill bit eating 'real men' out there
Racist abuse online
Boo'd by his own fans when putting his body on the line trying to score
No song despite scoring an incredibly important goal v Palace when Beto got one for coming off the bench
Constant slagging off of his ability despite trying to get back to fitness

Whether you agree with any of those or not, or mitigate against them in any way, it is fair to say Dom hasn't been treated as well as other players have been.
