2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

He is an enigma.
He could easily go elsewhere and flourish.
There is talent there , despite him not being a "natural" goalscorer.
Lacks confidence and is terrible at one on one's.
Probably worth keeping on a reduced salary as a squad option, but that depends on whether we can rectify his fitness / availabilty issues.
I don't want him any where near our squad. He's had years to prove his worth, and he's failed miserably, (whilst being made a multi millionaire). He doesn't deserve another chance.

I got a feeling Dom is holding on for another contact. Other offers from the bigger PL clubs seem to have dried up.

I hope we move him on. His injury record is appalling.

I think events have conspired to make DCL and Everton a complete mismatch. Let’s be honest if any top half of the league team were still interested he would have been away. As far as Everton are concerned he doesn’t want to be here, we can’t keep him fit and he doesn’t score enough goals. I honestly think Everton and DCL would both be better off if he moved on. His problem is that it looks like he would be taking a backward step both in terms of the level he would be playing at and his wages. I have no problem with the lad, I believe he gave of his best, he suffered as he was always under pressure to return early from injury as he was all we had and under Dyche he suffered from the style of play.

Completely agree…. Time to move on, but only one side of this comes out better.

I think what hurts him the worst as a player is he can't take other players on with the dribble. For whatever reason, he has always been weak on the ball and pushed off easily despite his size. He is kind of like Iwobi in the sense that he plays smaller than he is.

Don't forget his inability to pass the ball and link up play with others around him effectively, his poor control unless it's with his back to goal, erratic finishing inside the box and nonexistent ability to score from outside the box.
