Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

So.......you dont judge his play. You havent seen him play. You have no reason to believe he isnt good at those. I and everyone in the world knows stats dont tell the whole story about a player, but if you are going to come in and say a guy sucks, and ignore the actual verifiable statistical success he has had, you might want to provide SOME reason to believe. Otherwise its a logical fallacy to say "because stats sometimes dont show the truth, therefore stats for this guy dont show the truth". You are just being negative and contrary for the sake of being negative and contrary.

And if stats are so random, how come he gets double digit goals and assists every year? Is McNeils success random compared to Harrison? Is Ndiayes success random compared to Lindstrom? As everyone int he world knows there is variation from stats but theres a literal reason we keep it. Its a realllllly good indication someone is doing something successfully.
Chill out man. Where did I say he sucked? You stat nerds are so excitable.

No PL team wanted Ndiaye at 24. No PL team wanted Alcaraz at 22. Thats YOUR argument that if they were good other teams would have wanted them. Hamer was in the PL at 25 and played well. You criticize him for joining a team that got promoted, and punish him for playing his actual contract for a team that got relegated, nonsense.
No you’re talking nonsense, Alcaraz was in the prem at 20yrs of age, Ndiaye was sheff utd best player when they got promoted and he went to Marseille, the club he supports, Everton we’re interested, maybe a few other prem clubs were. Hamer got relegated in his only prem season and stayed with Sheffield Utd, no prem teams were interested. Maybe one or two will be now. Let’s wait and see.

And Ndiaye who we could probably sell to 60/70 % of the prem was 23 leaving sheff utd to go to Marseille and Hamer was 26 playing his only season in the prem now 28. And he will have 2 maybe 3 prem teams if he’s very lucky interested in him

Personally, I'd be overjoyed if we managed to get Mbuemo for 50 - 60 million. At 50 million, he'd cost just a bit more than Anthony Gordon cost the Barcodes, but he'd provide double the output! It's also the same price that we sold Onana to Villa, and he could barely even get into the crappest Everton side in living memory.

You can't be in favour of spending 30 million on Delap, and then cack yourself over the prospect of paying 60 million for Mbuemo imo. Mbuemo offers much better value for money!

We're never spending 60m on one player.
PSR is still a thing.

So if we need a left footed right winger and Cherki is out of our reach, because of reasons, how about this guy. 23yrs, from Feyenoord: Anis Hadj-Moussa.
He's not linked that I know of, I'm linking him cos why not.
(hope YT link works)

thing is tho mate delap younger

and better re sale

You may be correct, but my understanding is that a 60 million pound player on a five year contract sets the PSR books back by 12 million a year, which should be well within our affordability imo.
Problem might be that a player bought at that price might be out of the wage structure the club will have
