Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Daft question, but do we actually have a DoF now that Thelwell has gone? Who is actually out there for us running the rule over and targeting potential signings if not? I'm sure Moyes will have input but I'm concerned that we currently don't have a specific person in place to do what a DoF should be doing.

Maybe I've missed something but I don't recall any mention made of a Thelwell replacement being named which gives me some cause for concern as we can't rely on or expect Moyes to spend half his time searching for 'new' players when he should be concentrating on formulating a squad and style capable of competing further up the table next season.

I’ve heard a rumbling that Leeds are in for a loan for Jacob Ramsey. Villa are financially screwed and are hawking about some of their dross, Leon Bailey is another who they would accept any pound sterling offer for. Tyrone Mings can also leave but no non league side can afford his wages anymore
Tyrone Mings is worse than Keane.

Let’s go for Ross and Onana. Get the band back together

Grealish will struggle for a club tbh. Has turned into a player that stands on the touchline, gets the ball, stands still with it, does a step over and passes it inside.

Nobody plays like that. Will anyone pay his huge wages in the hope that the dynamic number 10 that travels at pace with the ball and scores goals is still in there somewhere? Probably not.
And I fear this could well become another Dele Ali moment

We don’t have a replacement and aren’t getting one. Will be a recruitment team.. but still doesn’t appear to be fully in place..

Pretty sure that Moyes got Thelwell's and Purdy's player recommendations long ago... That database is EFC property. Those will have been filtered by Moyes, Irvine, Moyes' brother (agent) and that Rob Newman guy he works with, and a plan OKd by the new CEO by now. Then Hammond, (Kinnear's hired-gun negotiator) will be on the case trying to do deals... At least that's the theory...?

If you’re seeing lads lighting up latter stages of European tournaments on your tv and think ‘oh Everton should get him’. You’re too late.

Cherki will be able to choose whoever he wants to play for. There’s no way he’d ever come here, he could easily play for City Barca PSG or Bayern. If the RS don’t get Wirtz they’d prob move for him.

Thanks - knew I hadn't missed out on something and to be be honest I'm not overly enamoured with this whole DoF malarkey. A recruitment team - to me - makes much more sense as it spreads the effort about and there is no reliance on just the one individual.

Just click
“ interested foreign based”
“ under 10m”

That’s what I used to do when filtering through potential signings

Yeah, but starting spots at those elite teams aren't just there to walk into.
And who says Everton are too late?... What's your insight?
Doesn't hurt to be optimistic.
