Moyes has only taken three players on loan since 2020, including Charly. The last two were Kalvin Phillips in 2024 and Alex Kral in 2021, neither of whom did anything. But in 2020, he brought in a lot of loans and got a lot of mileage and value for West Ham out of Craig Dawson, Alphonse Areola, Said Benrahma and Tomas Soucek.

Funnily enough, he's been dropped due to poor form. 36 year old Ivan Perisic has been in better form.
Shame about Mangala, as I like to think, that but for that injury we`d have kept him.

I think that’s a tad disrespectful to Brentford. They’re an established premier league team now. Well ran, good management and they buy well.

With those wages being spared, money is now available to spend.

Dan Plumley has warned that the bottom line numbers against PSR still aren’t great for the Toffees, but they are still expected to spend more.
The football finance expert admits there is an unknown surrounding the transfer business to come at Everton, which may excite some fans after years of constraints.
“It’s likely we will see them spend,” Plumley exclusively told Goodison News.
“The numbers, bottom line against PSR are still not brilliant, and there will be things that come into that to help them out, so I would expect them to spend.
“The outgoing players will shift off the wage bill, which will free up some headroom to manoeuvre. Will they spend huge amounts relative to the market? I think that is a bit of an unknown, so I think they will be active, but how much is interesting.
“The other overlay with that is not just the detained list, but other clubs coming in and potentially looking to buy their players, and I’m sure the likes of Jarrad Branthwaite, who hold that value, will also be the other side of the coin of what Everton can do in the market this summer.”

He was a big part of the John Textor, take over attempt. With that falling through. I think it might have been a little harder to do a deal. But I agree, was a decent loan until got injured.

I think we should be looking at places like France and Germany for solid players who might not cost as much as from the championship with the English tax.
Looking at France, there’s a Gaetan Perris, a 28 year old who is a Right Mid and has 10 goals and 11 assists in 34 games. Quoted at 6m on Transfermarkt.
As for Germany, there’s Romano Schmid (25) who has 5 goals and 5 assists in 32 games and is estimated at 16m.
I think those prices paid in instalments and split across a contract would cost us a few million a year max which is likely less than any loan fee we paid for Lindstrom, Broja.
