Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

An older player, taking a step down competively speaking, and would want a massive wage. I don't see the motivation for players like Trossard. I can hear the "Gareth Barry" shouts but he's a rarity.

I agree that we need strengthen with younger players who have resale value.

Yes, definitely this must be the focus, I hope we get more depth in with players like Young as well, but they should be free.

Spending the fee on starters, together with clever free transfers and loans.

If we had Alcaraz, Cherki and Delap for combined 70m, I would say a good start. But we need at least 5-6 offensive players.

I think we could possibly get Alcaraz. 🤔

Thing is his bank balance won’t and that’s the way of the world
Dont know...delap for sure would be making a lot of money at chelsea or united, but it would still easily make 100k with us...perhaps an extra 20 or 30% at chelsea/united at most...not a lot when you are already getting so much money anyway. He will think about potential england call ups, which might not be happening if he ends up as a sub at chelsea or united...

If Delap would go to Chelsea or Newcastle he would have competition for his place every week and if he went out of form he could easily find himself sat on the bench more often then not. Signing for us would mean he`d have very little competition for a starting spot given how few numbers we have in the squad, which will give him a good chance to settle into the club knowing he can have a bad run of games and still not lose his place and get a chance to regain his form. I still think CL and cash will make him look elsewhere.
