Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Fellows and mcneil are wingers for a start. Ndiaye plays left wing and plenty of clips of mcatee down the right wing as well.
If you have the iverlapping full backs, our wide men arent very wide anyway. Ndiaye often plays several yards in from the wing.

Its me, generally wondering about money, potential and numbers that we need to get in.

Personally id like that Chris Rigg out wide but hed cost around 30 million

We need to move away from McNeil. If Moyes could convert him to a left back or maybe a deep lying inside midfielder then maybe but as a winger he’s just far too slow.

He’s good at what we bought him for, a solid player who will work defensively and deliver enough good set pieces to keep a team up.

He’s not good enough to spearhead a team’s attack that wants European football.

I'm not convinced that Moyes is 100% on McNeil tbh, mainly for many of the reasons you have listed above. He has only ever put him on the right so far (not his preferred side) If an offer came in for him it wouldn't surprise me if we take it tbh, like you said if we really want to climb the table then he just doesn't offer enough.

….remember him covering for part of a game at LB and he might as well have been sitting in the stand with me. It didn’t last very long. Sheedy was slower than McNeil.

Nothing wrong with McNeil, other areas need addressing before him.

McNeil is one of our best players. Is it just because of that left foot? Yes. But for now that’s enough. That’s the situation. If you think he needs to be moved on this summer, then your expectations need addressing.

The team evolves by keeping its best players and jettisoning its worst. For now, Dwight is one of our best. In a few years I hope he won’t be. But for now he’s as solid a keep as anyone.

Issue is and I don’t think he’s one of our best players he’s a average prem player, mid table at best, the longer we keep these players and keep buying similar, the longer it will take us to challenge. Also his best position is on the left, and he’s 2nd choice behind Ndiaye, yes he’s a decent back up for now, but we can’t have him on the right, we need a lot better. I’d happily sell him , but maybe that’s next summer
