2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Wow. I'm not pretending. I was genuinely surprised that someone threatened to kill her and her child because she stated how many goals her husband scored at Goodison Park. I think it says a lot about you as a human being and the circles you associate with that you were not surprised. You must be very careful with everything you say. It must be a living nightmare.
Mate that's ignoring the other bit of the post which was clearly a dig.

And I've been around the internet for decades. I'm more surprised at people acting shocked that this still happens.

It's not new or unique.

It's quite clearly not a dig at the support. It's pointing out his achievement, which they are rightly proud of.

But well done to all those who have tried to characterise it as that, as a way of trying to minimise abuse of a woman. Thats obviously helping.
It quite clearly was a dig but you believe whatever you want mate.

None of it deserved the response and I've consistently said that despite what you're attempting to claim I said instead.

Stay off the road if you don't want to be run over and killed.

See how ridiculous that sounds.
And yet we tell the children to look both ways before crossing....

Almost as if there is a level of personal responsibility to be aware of the surroundings when you're in a dangerous environment.

The Internet is the same.

The only way to guarantee you won't get hit by a car is to stay inside and the only way to guarantee you won't get nasty messages on social media is to not have it.

Do you think her post can be read as a dig against the support?

"They might not shout it - but we're proud every single day"

Definitely has an implication that they don't feel he's supported, rightly or wrongly.

I can see why some might take the hump at that but sending messages isn't on.

Yes that can easily be taken as a passive aggressive dig which doesn't take much to rile people on SM

These people shouldn't be on social media in a public way and just pay people to manage their comms

The abuse is terrible and not condoning it but unfortunately the internet brings out faceless keyboard zombies

No mate - let’s not try and defend a bunch of orcs yelling at a woman and her child over a social media post.

I hope the club ban anyone caught doing this

The road has rules and is policed, speed cameras, and traffic lights, licences etc

But I did say ‘no offence’
Lol. Do we tell people to never cross a road because if they do it's their fault they were run over? Because in your analogy above that's what you're saying DCLs wife should do. It's laughable. Don't go on the internet because if you do and someone threatens to murder you and your child it's partly your own fault. Laughable.

The internet is covered by laws too, @AsiaAsia82. The problem is lack of enforcement not women having opinions.
