Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

us and West Ham being linked to Lazio's Argentine striker Valentin "Taty" Castellanos, he has had 10 goals in 28 serie A games this season and helped Lazio finish in a European spot. A fee of £29m is quoted, looks decent for that kind of money.

He was linked with us several years ago when he was in NYC

35 prem games, 35 prem starts, 2839 minutes of prem football, 9 goals and 4 assists

he's a very fit man and a very good goal scorer even at his age

whoever gets him will be lucky
If you say Delap I would agree but to make this club a retirement home again for a freebie who will ask for crazy wages and will surely hinder the progress of any potential new young strikers no thank you.

The same question is will you give Young a new contract he is fit for his age and can do a job.

We need good players. We have to move forward.

You suggest to sell our only striker who can score a few and sign a 38 years old as the solution this is absolutely crazy judgement.

A 36 year old rb started, got injured and Moyed chose to replace him with a 40 year old left back rather thna bring Patterson on. I would be genuinely amazed if Patterson was with us next season?
I think you are right, can`t see how he has a future when 2 managers have now refused to play him... Hopefully we get a busy window, god knows we need it... and with the stadium I think the calibre of player will be higher than what we are used to.

I`ve seen our fans saying they don`t mind Young and Coleman going if we bring in Coufal.... I can`t fathom it but then I don`t rate him whatsoever. I`d want a 1st choice and a development player maybe from Championship or smaller European League looking to step up.

The Coventry right back, who we’ve had some tentative links to, has 2 years left on his contract and won’t be on high wages. Him and KWP on a free would massively improve our full back options and add some much needed pace.

i would give young a 1 year contract over coleman because he's actually had a decent season and started almost half of our league games

having experienced older players in the squad is not going to hinder any progress, look at newcastle with 34 year old trippier, 33 year old schar, 33 year old pope and 33 year old burn who all started their league cup final game against liverpool

as long as they are prepared to take a reduction in their wages i would definitely have the experience of young and vardy on short term deals to supplement the squad as they have proven that they have the ability to still perform at the highest level

You see the players that move around Europe for rediculously low fees, the second a PL club comes in it triples or quadruples the price.

if you look at the prem appearances from this season there is a solid argument that we should sell patterson

he's not even useful as a backup

chermiti should also be loaned out to get some experience

it looks like coleman is going to be offered another year contract although at this stage god knows why, he's a great man but he's an utter crock of a player now and barely plays

we are getting rid of a fullback who played 31 games for us in ashley young which means we effectively only have 1 actual full back in the entire first team who actually plays games

jake o'brien at right back is not a long term solution to this problem

we need to strengthen the full back positions considerably in the summer as a priority and then the central midfield

i'd only let Beto go if it meant we were bringing in someone like Delap and Vardy
Coleman likely player/coach with stronger emphasis on coach.

New contract for Gana, keep Branthwaite, sign Charly on a perm, let Doucoure, DCL, Keane, Harrison, Lindstrom, Broja all leave.

For transfers:
Sure fire starters: RW and ST (one must be a consistent goal scorer), RB, CM
Rotation options: LB, CM
Depth: CB, GK, Attacking CM/Winger

That’s how I see it in terms of priority, though I’d understand any difference of opinion on most important positions. A lot depends on whether Gana is kept, whether O’Brien continues at RB, whether Charly is kept, etc.
