Ex players on the pitch Sunday:

Well amazing day yesterday - still haven't come down! I don't actually know who was there, player wise. The PA system was awful and muffled so couldn't hear it properly. I haven't yet had chance to watch it back.

Lescott had some cheek to show up! Notable omissions - Peter Beagrie. Gravenson, Carsley. Andy Johnson. Madar. Bakayoko. The Yak. Kanchelskis. I was a little disappointed each player never got a personal introduction, a chance to wave to the crowd. Suppose they may say 'it would take all day' but so what? This was a momentous occasion and fans would be happy to be there all day.

A number of those players were pulling on the Blue shirt before I was born. But would love to think many would be invited back to the first game at Bramley Moore. Tony Kay, Derek Temple and Johnny Morrissey might not get many more times to visit. Be a nice way to link the past to the new. Don't really like the idea that yesterday was the last time we'll see so many of those greats on the pitch.

Wonder where Mike Trebilcock was. Now there's a fellow with an important place in our history.

I watched it at home with my dad and he couldn't recognise any of his childhood heroes (early to mid 60s). I know most of them have past away but I don't recall seeing Colin Harvey. Joe Royle was there but he was a little bit later.

I suppose their names were called out in the eras that they played and each player got their individual cheer.
