Some of what he said isn’t untrue. However, that whole interview still reeks of stubbornness and delusion. What he doesn’t seem to comprehend is that fans live in hope. How he conducts himself, sets up his teams, and limits opportunity may give you a chance at a level of stability but it also imposes a ceiling on what you can accomplish. The reason why some other managers get more slack with results is because they show a vision and a path towards growth. For certain clubs whose aspiration is only to grind and survive, have at it Sean. But when that stability is in question as it was for us this year, then your one and only selling point is gone. That’s why folks call you a dinosaur.
