dyche thinks

He brings it up in near enough every single interview since he's left, and it's not like he's even being directly asked about the threats to the directors or anything - he just brings it up himself. Why? Does he think it makes him look tough or something? Like, “Look at me, I joined a fanbase that put its CEO in a headlock.”
Because it was genuinely one of the maddest times in Evertons timeline and it makes for entertaining viewing in an interview. It’s not deep. He didn’t mention a headlock btw

He didn’t mention the headlock thing specifically, He said the directors couldn’t come to games because they’d get “hammered, death threats, boos, and all that.” There's a MASSIVE difference between booing and death threats, fans wanted answers as to wtf was going on, if death threats where made i hope the police investigated and prosecuted those behind them.

Is it just all for Entertainment? Personally, I think he brings it up to make the job seem hard, which it 100% was, he doesn't need to bring all that up to show how much of a 💩show the club was though. He can do what he wants like, just don't expect fans to not respond when he brings up that very tumultuous time in our history, before he was even manager.

Why not though? Id want to know more about it, Neville was asking, and I'm pretty sure he'll have signed a contract not to go into specifics.

So whats he going to say? Nothing? Or just talk about things that are already in the open (which he says from the off).

He doesn't say he "believes" it (he's not asked). But the facts are when he arrived to paint the picture of a shitshow is that people running the club were advised not to attend the ground. Don't see an issue with it.

He's asked again, who was actually running it and he says something like - people there day to day, him and Thelwell with players etc. Then says there was loads of people running different things.

What Neville should've asked is...who called the shots and made the decisions for the club? He only answers who employed him (Bill, Thelwell, Mosh). But that's it.

Ah cmon it’s the internet age. Of course there were death threats. The headlock was bull though.
Embarassing this.

We've seen nothing like this. We've heard nothing from the police about anything like this.

Was anyone charged? They do that these days you know mate.

Just gladly eating up the propaganda bollocks with no critical thinking at all.

How would he know more about it if he wasn’t even the manager at the time? Did anyone actually get charged for making death threats, or were the directors just concerned about the possibility of receiving them-like they were worried about being booed at games?

The board announced they wasn't going to be there because of 'death threats' on the morning of a game where mass protests were planned against them.

The alleged headlock happened weeks prior to this.

It was a political decision by the board as proven by the timing of it all and the lack of police reports.

I'd say it's backfired but if you say something enough times then apparently it becomes the truth.

It was a shameful move that shouldn't be forgotten.

The statement was all over the media. He was asked about what it was like arriving at the club and that was one public part of it being an unstable environment.

Doesn't even mention the headlock gate either.

And PED saying he's "lying" is wrong cos he's not.

That false story about Denise being put in a headlock made it into headline sports news. And didn’t Merseyside Police confirm they hadn’t received any reports of threats against Everton’s directors? I really don’t understand why people keep defending Dyche for bringing up an unsubstantiated claim that the directors received death threats. Pointing to other teams receiving threats is pure whataboutism-it’s not evidence that any threats were actually made in this case.

He is lying through his teeth repeating the lies Kenwright told.

The only reason any of them didn't go was because they didn't want to face the abuse they had well earned.

Any bollocks over death threats or headlocks is utter propaganda bollocks and PED is right to label him liar for spreading them.

Not eating up any propaganda but in today’s world it’s likely they received some sort of a threat and used it to their advantage against the fans
