Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning everyone,

Anyone seen the Goodbye Goodison documentary on SSN ?

Emotional stuff and available on YouTube.

So, the Old Lady isn't being demolished and will be the new home for the women's team. Brilliant news for me and certainly means I will watch at least one women's game every season.

It's still the end of an era on Sunday and I will go to soak up the atmosphere and hopefully not make a nuisance of myself - some very strange comments by ST holders saying that those without tickets should stay away and leave the are clear for them - selfish gits ( but reassuring that Goodison won't be bulldozed afterwards).

Anyway table tennis summer league starts tonight and I've agreed to play for a team in Preston. Don't know anyone there so it should be interesting to come up against players that I don't know. Hope it's a friendly league. Wigan is incredibly friendly. Liverpool is , as you can imagine, super competitive and as a result unfortunately less friendly bucking the trend for Scousers , but it's sport isn't it!

Anyway have a lovely day everyone.
Great news about Goodison maybe they will play the reserves there as well .

My mums sister lived in Torrevieja for 25 years. When her husband died was pretty much on her own. Eventually we started getting phone calls saying people were worried about her as she was showing signs of dementia.

To cut a long story short, me and my sister flew over and brought her back to the U.K.
I’ll never forget the look on her face back to Alicante airport, like she knew she’d never be going back.

As soon as we got her back to the U.K. and out of her environment she deteriorated dramatically, literally within the space of a couple of weeks and had to be put into care.

It was incredible to watch somebody deteriorate so quickly.

She had a great life though! Was an original bunny girl in the Bahamas in the 60’s.

Her and her husband had pubs and bars all over the country and a couple of businesses in Spain.

My uncle actually ran the Man City supporters bar at Maine Road in the 80’s, as well as a pub in the newly built Arndale centre when it was opened, a place called the Forum in Wyrhenshaw, The old bank in Barrow, the number 3 in Blackpool and a few others.

Such an awful way for her to go out, but what a life she had.
What an amazing life she had I bet she was quite a character

I never knew how gorgeous it was here in Abersoch. The weather is amazing which helps of course but today is the first time since I can’t remember that we have had a beach day in this country which felt like we were abroad. The third pic is the view from our beach chairs today. Hope everyone else is able to enjoy the sunshine 💙

My mum used to go to a Christian Guesthouse in Abersoch , before I came along, and she always said it was the nicest beach she knew.

Used to work in Abersoch, absolutely jammed with traffic in the summer. As you say, the beaches are lovely.

Morning all, it’s cloudy here as well but at least the temperature is keeping warm. I watched the game last night too and as much as we go on about the s**** I would never want to lose especially if there was a possibility of a champions league place involved. Talking of Europe it’s 39 years to the day since we played Rapid Vienna in Rotterdam. I had just met my husband then and he sent me a postcard from Rotterdam which I still have - young love eh?
Enjoy your meal out and your work do @anjelikaferrett , and your catch up with your friend @Gwladysover. I’m off for physio as although my back is a lot better as soon as I up my activity I can feel it again, so full on patient compliance for me as it’s only 2 weeks to the hop.
Have a great day everyone 💙
My one of these nifty items as an anniversary present.

Evening everyone, still lovely and sunny here but the wind is much cooler than of late. Just sorting out a few arrangements for the weekend which included transport to the station - bus or taxi? We are travelling fairly light so decided on the bus. It’s a good service only ten minutes into town. The husband said the half past would get us there in plenty of time and he’s right it would though it’s often late by the time it gets to our stop but even then it shouldn’t be a problem, we’d still make the train. I’d prefer to catch the earlier bus which will get us there over an hour before the train leaves which suits me just fine, I’d rather wait and know I was there than risk missing it, he thinks I’m overreacting, I am but I just can’t stand the thought of being late for anything. After much “negotiation” we are catching the earlier bus, he knows it makes sense.

Me too I would much rather be an hour early than two minutes late even if it is not to catch a train.

I travel by train a lot and it involves getting from my local Merseyrail station to Lime st, I never get the train that gets there on time, always the one before.

Yeah but Merseyrail has a very decent reputation for punctuality. Buses.....who knows?

Personally and , having had the pleasure of meeting G, I'm surprised she isn't going the day before and sleeping over at the station 😂
