Billy Dean
Player Valuation: £70m
We should go and get Brandon Soppy from Atalanta
I remember last year when everyone was desperate to spunk £50M-60M in Evan Ferguson.
Whatever happened to him?
Delap has had his good 6 months when Premiership defences knew nothing about him, looks out of his depth now.
Would rather go for Ivanovic from Millwall for £15M-20M, then sell him for over double that next summer after he’s had his good season.
Ivanovic or Delap ?He carries the ball tremendously well, and it's a trait we massively lack.
Only NDiaye feels capable of doing that.
Ivanovic or Delap ?
The relegation clause has been advertised extensively.Moyes tends to play a straight bat when players of other clubs are mentioned. Always has…
So for him to actively come out and claim we’re interested to me is very out of character.
If Delap/his agent were against the move surely that info would have been relayed by now. So for Moyes to make such statements would make him/club look foolish.
We clearly have a chance and him signing the wall is an indication he’d be open to join.
TFG in their first season brought Lukaku as a statement signing. Perhaps Delap is our version
Julio Arce has too. Also Stefan Kuntz. Imagine a team with Arce, Fanni, & Kuntz...It's a shame Rod Fanni has retired.
I'd have Ivanovic over Delap tbh, seriously goes under the radar in that leagueDelap.
A tad dated now but;

Liam Delap: The One-Man Battering Ram Carrying Ipswich’s Survival Bid
Liam Delap is one of the main reasons Ipswich Town have clawed their way out of the bottom three. We take a look at his impressive numbers.theanalyst.com
Never seen Ivanovic kick a ball.
I'd get all emotional if we signed him.We should go and get Brandon Soppy from Atalanta
If I were to take a shot in the dark this is what Delap is thinkingThe relegation clause has been advertised extensively.
It's no secret we've been in for a proper brute of a striker.
It also let's the market know we've a few quid to take a punt on a player.
Someone has to score the goals next season, I firmly believe as an experienced football man that Moyes is acutely aware of this requirement.
problem with above is that a chance to move to a bigger club may never happen again and he will be made very aware of that. They all think they are the best and will back themselves to make No.1.If I were to take a shot in the dark this is what Delap is thinking
United are intriguing because of the scale but the managerial turnover, poor recent development track record and fact they have spent nearly 100 million on two striker prospects in the last 2 years would make me very wary. Paying attention to Hojlund's struggles for supply would I be in a similar spot? Do I enter the priority, will there be any patience for a development curve from the club or fans starved for improvement/results. Personally just too many potential issues.
Chelsea I have a history with Maresca, it is an up and coming youth focused squad. But turnover in managers makes it 50/50 I am under Enzo for more than a year. Am I assured i'm beating out Jackson at present? Even if I do will I immediately invite scrutiny from media/fans in arguably the most unforgiving fanbase with every poor showing considering the tight margins with the alternate option. The club has underperformed recent seasons, maybe the youth project is at its crux, leading to just general impatience. I'm not sure i'm on that timeline.
Newcastle very intriguing if Isak is gone but how long can I wait and see if that happens this summer. Splits a difference of competing at a high level but offering a little breathing room for developing over a few seasons with a likely stable manager. Still filling an excellent strikers shoes and that move is far from guaranteed.
Villa, similar logic if they sell Watkins. A little less of a media circus but a competitive european side with a very good manager who isnt going anywhere and yet an up and coming squad. Still again have to see if Watkins is outbound.
Everton, Enter a club in a massive transition given the ownership and stadium change. An empowered manager. Can be marketed as a star in a way I wouldnt at the other options, but be given time to develop. Fanbase and club size comparable to lots of the options despite not comparable recent success. Safest option in regards to playing time but does my value cap if I don't take a massive leap in ways that it wouldnt with the other options?
Personally I think the simplest translation if I were him. Chelsea and United stay aways, Newcastle and Villa likely the best choices if they move on from their strikers. If that doesn't happen us the best alternative.
I don't rate Delap, I'd rather bring Mitrovic back to prem than waste £30m on someone who won't solve our goalscoring problems (I don't want Mitrovic btw). I'd also rate him below a prime Andy Johnson.I remember last year when everyone was desperate to spunk £50M-60M in Evan Ferguson.

The world and his dog know it's a £30m relegation clause. "It's a short career, I'll sign for whoever pays me the most."If I were to take a shot in the dark this is what Delap is thinking
Good for you, mate. If you always expect failure, you can never be disappointed.Sorry, but I still can’t see Delap coming to us.
Julian Dicks?Julio Arce has too. Also Stefan Kuntz. Imagine a team with Arce, Fanni, & Kuntz...
