Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all on this sunny day here .I hope all are well and that @peteblue is back asleep .I thought the football was much better yesterday ,much more flowing ,sure I wasn't pleased that we threw away a lead again but we are not potent enough up front and that is the price we are paying for years of suffering without a real threat . It sometimes happens with a manager that he falls lucky with someone being injured or sick ,yesterday he saw us without Dukes and mostly without Harrison -I will draw no further conclusion . Yes some great photos posted .
Have a great day all ,breakfast Countryfile and on the roof for me today then later we go out ambushing poor people who are unlucky enough to be walking at the same time and place .COYB

Got in the ground about 14.45 today which is about 14 minutes earlier than usual and the fantastic display in the Street end really brought home what’s about to happen……..
It was brilliant wasn’t it. I thought the atmosphere before kick off was very - and I can’t think of the right word here - but strange, quiet but noisy and people around us were saying that it’s really hitting home now. Watching the ticker tape slowly falling made it feel surreal.

Yes I think Alcaraz has justified his place and hopefully we will buy him, I was a little unsure until yesterday. Be careful on the roof and enjoy your walk.

Fatigue from the last couple of relegation battles has affected the crowd. We just aren’t used to being able to relax at this time of the year and enjoy the football. Add in the emotional confusion as well re moving home. It’s hard to know how to react. Do we mourn the loss of Goodison or celebrate our new home? None of us have done this before, nor will we again, and I do understand the ā€˜strange’.

For me it isn't an either or situation. I'll be mourning Goodison whilst celebrating BMD. There's room in my turbulent brain for both. It's like the funeral of an elderly much beloved relative who has lived a full life. A combination of sadness, laughter, memories and celebration. A real cauldron of emotions. I think it will take a really hard person to not shed a tear or two at some stage.

On a different note have you come across this young Irish all girl band yest mate. I have a feeling they're going to take off soon. They certainly have me smitten.

A beautiful way to explain the Goodison emotion. A shared life to be celebrated while also shedding a little tear at our loss.

Yes I know the band from around Christmas time when they were flagged as one of the Irish artists to watch out for in 2025.

Speaking of which, this cartoon appeared in the Irish press yesterday.

I was a massive fan of The Cranberries so they're right up my street. Just signed to Warner label and I read they're working with the guy behind Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan, so they've brought the big guns out. If they were British they'd be the next Industry plants. :)

Not sure what that cartoon is trying to depict. To me it looks like they are cowering from Netanyahu.

Certainly something about them but no real obvious hit yet.

The cartoon depicts Kneecap being restrained from pulling back the veil over what Israel is doing in Palestine.

That's a perfect description Fred

They have a big following on TikTok, just short of 1m, mainly for doing covers. Which is probably why they've been signed already. The trick now is getting that fanbase to listen to their original stuff.

Easier said than done. Over Easter I watched a good pub band doing covers but for the one song that was their own the place just died. I’m out now watching the football and there is a band on at 6pm so a nice Sunday ahead indeed.
