BRING IT!!!!

I genuinely used to love the originals as a kid.

And a few years ago having not watched any of them for years, I decided to give the series a go in chronological order and convinced my wife she’d enjoy it.

After getting through the prequels I couldn’t wait to start episode 4. The acting and dialogue throughout the original trilogy was awful. Like shockingly bad.

My wife kept saying how crap they were and I was finding it harder and harder to defend them with every scene.

Yeah, I hear what you're saying but there's still magic in them for me, we're watching Empire now over brekky, Vader is at his most menacing and when Yoda first turns up he still makes me chuckle.

And the acting and dialogue in the prequels is dreadful, apart from Ian McDiarmid being utterly fantastic throughout.

Taking all nostalgia out of the equation, Rogue One is objectively the best entry in the whole thing.

I agree on Rogue One. Quality film.

Yeah the prequels aren’t great either, but I think they benefit massively from having newer filming technology. Plus I love a good character arc.

I reckon I’d have been able to enjoy the originals more had I watched them on my own, the nostalgia would’ve got to me.

But as it was there’d be a scene on and I’d think ā€œoh yeah this will show her how good they areā€ and then Luke would say something proper goofy and it ruined it.

Empire strikes back then Rogue One by some distance the rest are varying degrees of okay with Episode 8 the last Jedi bottom.
