Goodbye to Goodison

42 game seasons in those days I think.

My one worry with Moyes is how the home form has tailed off badly. Can't be starting life off at BMD throwing away 2-0 leads to other bottom end teams as happened v Man. United and Ipswich in last two months otherwise things will get negative again quickly.
They were 42 game seasons but even if we beat Saints our percentage of home wins this season will be lower than the 2 relegation seasons.

Very "Everton that" it is currently 4/18.

I'm pretty sure it was said in 22/23 that was the worst home form in modern times and that was six wins over the season so can't even get to that now.

Leaving Goodison with the worst home form for decades.

Shocking.

Dyche needs to take most of the blame for how negative the play and atmosphere has become at Goodison but I don't like the way Moyes has reverted to safety first at home since the Man. United game was messed up from 2-0.

Those first halfs v Spurs and Leicester were refreshing. O.k poor opposition but loads of those games finished 1-1/0-0 under Dyche. Then a good first half v RS.

The increased crowds at BMD will be expecting more games on the front foot and really don't think the personnel is there for that.

I’ve said for ages I’m not fretting at leaving as it’s a place of PTSD that makes Evertonians anxious at any hint of setback, and that transmits to the players.

Time to turn the page and write a new story, one that invokes happier endings.

The Everton I know and hate will make the new ground a place of even more misery. It's so obvious this can be the only outcome.

If you get a ST at the new stadium the club will have to acknowledge there will now be obstructed views for anyone behind your massive swede.

I just hope we get the win against Southampton so the emotions of the game don't hang over the ending like a dark cloud.

I was teary eyed as the players came out of the tunnel, seeing that spectacle with the ticker-tape, cards, banners and flags, thinking this is nearly it. By the end of the game all that turns to disappointment and borderline anger. Maybe if we had won half our home games already then you can equal it with your mind that it was a freakish result due to the pressure. When you've been to multiple home PL games this season and you've only seen them win once/twice (mine is one in 10 league games + 2 out of 4 in the cup) then you start getting a bit cheesed off with the whole thing.

It's up to the players and manager to sort it out for the last game.

As the season has gone on I think the last two home games looked ideal for us to finish off with two good wins against two sides completely out of their depth in the PL, and the first half yesterday lived up to that expectation up until they scored before half time. The second half we gradually let Ipswich into the game and eventually lived up to how we have been performing at home for a few seasons now, and tamely surrendered a two goal lead for the third time this season at Goodison. We can blame the result on the pressure of it being the last 3pm Saturday KO, blame it on the warm weather, blame it on the thin squad, all just more excuses for the inexcusable loss of 2 two points against another poor team. Expect more of the same in two weeks time.

Do many teams move to a new ground and hit the ground running?

Dont actually know just asking the question
Arsenal haven't won the PL since they moved.
Swansea done nothing special
Cardiff..div 3 ,old money
Wigan, bank rolled to PL
Bolton same as Cardiff.
Citeh ....no
Darlington utter collapse
Coventry..no
Huddersfield ... no
Probably more ....
We might buck the trend......
