2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Don't get the hostility, me.

A lot of it I figured was around expecting/inevitability feeling of him getting off. "He's crap anyway"

If I was him, I wouldn't have signed the contract either. We must have been the worst team in the league for years for a striker. People here slating Dyche/negative football, and in the same breath slate a number 9 who doesn't fancy it. C'mon...

He'll definitely have offers, undoubtedly.

If we've now convinced him, tremendous. We're selling Beto. They want silly money for Broja - we'll have a very handy, rotational/backup striker in Calvert-Lewin. They won't bank on him to play 30+ games, that's for sure.

It would be a travesty to lose such a PSR friendly 'asset' for zilch.

We've been experts over the years at setting players up the fail - none more so than him. Get some pace in the squad, and ability to pass forward or cross a bloody ball and he's a big asset to the team.
Stop talking such well thought out sense...

Don't disagree with any of that mate... but again, his injury record just can't be ignored. He simply ain't worth the wages if he isn't available for at least 3/4 of the season...

What annoys some folks is that if he didn`t want to stay and play under Dyche`s negative football, why not move last year? People can blame the club for looking for too much money for him, but these days if a player wants to move they can usually get the move (providing some club is interested in signing them in the first place).

Why do evertonians hate their own players

Never a truer thing said from that massive bonce

What else can't be ignored is we have currently have by some distance, the least number of registered football players for next season.

If he goes, it's another striker we have to pay money for. Sporting's 4th choice cost us £15m.

33 Premier League games last season, and 22 so far this season.

If we can replicate that next season, then all considered - he's worth retaining.

We'll also sign another striker.

The charm offensive is going to start getting drip fed now that there's a realisation we're his ceiling and he needs to get Everton back on side.

It'll start with the beeb then probably sky and then the echo before he inevitably signs a deal with us he couldn't get anywhere else.

Probably mention full fitness, pre season under his belt and leading the line at Bramley Moore.
Really hope you're right, but as I say I'm not convinced.

236 Prem appearances

57 Prem goals

SEVEN seasons with less than 10 goals a season.
Four of those seasons with 5 goals or less
ONE season with 13 goals (19-20)
ONE season with 16 goals (20-21)

Bye, thanks but no thanks
How many games missed over that time to injury? Because people will look at the appearances and goals and say its justified keeping him...time to go.
