2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

The problem is, With Broja going back and Chermiti needing a loan and the club were looking to sell Beto in January, means we need 2 strikers and probably a 3rd to cover upfront and wide. That’s a lot do on top of everything else, if re-signing him gives us more money to look at other positions, then I don’t have an issue.
I’d rather keep DCL than doucoure or re-loaning Harrison. Them things could still happen, but it may help getting better quality in the 10 and RW roles
It was Dyche not the club.

If we have funds, I want to get rid of all 3 of them. DCL is a sicknote and can’t score.

I think Gyokeres is a good player but to be fair scoring a load in Portugal is like scoring a load in Scotland, there's no guarantee that you're going to transfer that to a league like the PL. Inter signed Taremi who was top scorer there the year before and he's only scored once for them.
Scored 6 in 8 in the Champions League too. Agree with your sentiment though

Everyone, Dave especially so, is running before jumping based on nothing but talks atm, it isn’t a given that he’ll re-sign, same as everyone else OOC in the summer

If this piece is transparent, can you explain what it means to me, please?

Because as someone who would like him to stay but really doesn't think he will, it seems pretty opaque...

The charm offensive is going to start getting drip fed now that there's a realisation we're his ceiling and he needs to get Everton back on side.

It'll start with the beeb then probably sky and then the echo before he inevitably signs a deal with us he couldn't get anywhere else.

Probably mention full fitness, pre season under his belt and leading the line at Bramley Moore.

He was here 11 years.

Yeah I know, we also had Andy Johnson who wasn't bad, Ferguson wasn't bad ,Beattie had a great record at Saints, but we got the fat, finished player after a bad injury. We also had Rooney at the start of his career, trouble was fowards were the dearest players to buy and let's be honest Moyes had to sell to buy his whole Everton career.

We're gonna be pretty thin on the ground come the summer with players contracts ending. As much as I agree with the sick note comments etc, if we can keep him on reduced wages it leaves money in the pot to add quality where needed...and we need quite a bit of that

….if DCL signs it won’t be on ‘reduced wages’, I imagine his demands will be for significantly more than he’s getting now.
