It is. It really annoys me but top players shout it out when they win a point. Now usually it's at an important moment in the match like game point or after a really good rally but increasingly players are shouting it out routinely.

It's done to psyche you up and put your opponent off.

The 10 year old took it to new levels last night - I've never heard it at a practice session and delighted to say I've never uttered the phrase myself although I have been guilty of an occasional fist pump and " Good boy or get in " if I win a close game against someone that I've never beaten ( twice in the whole of last season).

It’s like the kids copying the Ronaldo siuu in this case. It’s great to see an enthusiastic kid taking up your sport and really embracing it. I have coached a long time and thankfully the good kids way outweigh the ill disciplined brats who didn’t even listen to their parents never mind me. Now don’t confuse this with me saying I’m a good coach but I am an enthusiastic one

Morning everyone,

Yet another gorgeous sunny day on the Costa del Lancs. I wonder how long it will be before we get water rationing and a hosepipe ban ?

Returned to table tennis practice last night on the hottest day of the year! Yeah I thought it was sensible too . Coach thought he'd have a laugh because when I was absolutely knackered he got England No1 under 10 to practice with me. The kid is absolutely unbelievable, his talent is amazing but it's mentally where he is the best I've ever seen even celebrating every point won ( in practice!) with a fist pump and loud shout of "choi".

Feeling it this morning but I will be back in the gym in an hour for a cardio session . I've upped the intensity and ratio of my training to try to lose my love handles before we go island hopping in Greece next month . Also cut down on snacking and alcohol ( which will probably have more effect).

Granny got good test results from her blood and urine tests this week so fingers crossed for the next few months.

Good news about Granny, will keep everything crossed for her. Table tennis, extra gym I’m impressed, since I gave up cycling I’ve avoided anything remotely energetic.

Well I've finalised my trip upto the Lakes today for the spreading of my BILs ashes. I'll be staying with my eldest sister for 5 days and my other sister says I deserve a Mutley medal. My nephew from Poland will be there who I get on really well with and I'll also reconnect with my great niece Mela who is now 21 months. That's gone quick.

I think I'll be ready for my 6 day bender in Liverpool which hopefully involves a glass or two of wine with Jazzy. It coincides with the last match at Goodison and I fully intend to sample the atmosphere in some way.

Anyway, I'm currently enjoying the last of my supplies of strong cider sat in the son waiting on my first BBQ of the summer. Burger and hot dog awaits. Boring I know but it's become a ritual. Cheers everyone. Happy strong cider Wednesday.

Good evening all. We've had another lovely day today until about 6.30pm when there was a huge thunderstorm and hailstones! Guess which numpty was bringing the shopping in when the hail struck! I was like a drowned rat! I hope you feel a bit better today @Terrarian and that you managed to go to to your group.

I too am in Liverpool that weekend I'm meeting my cousins for one of our now regular catch ups aka drinking sessions on the Saturday afternoon and staying in town on Saturday night at the Atlantic Tower. Would love to meet up with @Gwladysover and @Barnfred 55 , if it's logistically possible .
I went back to work today after two weeks off. Guess what? The IT system crashed for about 4 hours. Totally useless!
Frankie continues to be the most placid little guy. He's just so cute.

That's my intention too but rumours are that there will be a cordon around Goodison that you can only enter by showing a match ticket?
