Anything but acoustic or rock

Tbh, most newer stuff tends to be heading in rock territory (plus I don't know what your personal cut off is for rock as for me it's heavier stuff like metal but for others it's anything with a guitar)

With that in mind, not many people know this person. Completely different

Don't do apple sorry Bry but here are some relatively recent discoveries

Been around a while but I only heard them for the first time about 4 years ago. Seen the twice live now - would recommend.

First heard about a year ago - like the synth melodies and mildy amusing lyrics.

Prince Fatty does a lot of dub/reggae productions of older reggae tracks and covers of a variety of other stuff, Cypress Hill, Jefferson Airplane, Amy Winehouse for example.

I saw Max Cooper live last year, if you like EDM or ambient stuff, he is worth a listen.

Most new stuff I discover is via Radio 6, which I find plays a good range of old and new music from a range of genres.

Agree. Also, there was a time when radio DJs did their best to find and introduce their listeners to new stuff. Not a likely occurrence on the likes of Boom Radio these days ...
Radio 1 (and the local BBC Radio stations around the country) and Radio X both have hours of shows each evening dedicated to this.

Trying to widen my musical vocabulary, share your favorite tracks and albums. Apple Music preferred.

This is a semi serious thread. Please try and avoid your usual 4 chord junk.

Cheers

Same fella.
He's American, some bands I've never heard of and some I have.

Gonna stick this on, cheers for all the suggestions. Probably the best thread of all time on this forum.
Stick with it mate, every different DJ plays different music on there and it’s not long before you’ll hear something interesting or a song you like.
