But, also, purchase or lease of Nelson Dock will likely happen through Roundhouse, not Everton. It may well be that the investments that are brought into Roundhouse may have a bearing on what any Nelson Dock developments might be.

If that was the case mate could also separate the development of Nelson Dock from the club, theoretically - though they could do that with the stadium anyway.

Bit surprised at the Sarofim development. On one hand access to additional capital is always welcome but I wasn't anticipating that TFG would be going down the route of looking for new investment.
It was mentioned not so long ago they would be looking for more investors to come aboard.

The more contacts and financial clout involved with the club the better.

The risk of the development could realistically be away from Everton, but the reward still be directed to our coffers.

To be fair, this was in the local rag about 3 days ago, and it seems we are actively encouraging investors, to help us take over the world (or the northern docks at least). Given Chongs recent words about Nelson Dock, it’s seems plans are very much underfoot in snapping up as much land as possible. What is a little odd, is that the pending ‘Howard Kendall suite” in the shipping containers was granted a 5 yr lease by Peel for Collingwood Dock, directly behind Nelson Dock, so maybe we have bold plans for only the immediate vicinity around the stadium for now.

An article in the Financial Times states that while the impressive-looking Everton Stadium, citing a person close to the club as claiming it could boost revenues by at least £60million a year, is the foundation of fans’ hopes for a brighter future and has become a stunning addition to the north Liverpool skyline, it stands out in an area that has not kept pace. Marc Watts, Everton’s executive chairman and president of The Friedkin Group, told the publication it would be “such a shame” and a “missed opportunity” not to use the stadium as a “catalyst to lift up that whole area of the northern docks and the development of the whole Liverpool area.”

Watts stressed the need for partners, including private companies and local and national government. He said: “We’re not looking for any large amounts of public money to make this happen. If the business plan is strong enough, and we think it would be, then you should have partners who want to be part of it.”

Until Russia invaded Ukraine yes, luckily we have ditched Russianish owners for American owners....surely nothing can go wrong now
