Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

By next week, we should get a gauge of some of the so called targets in the championship with teams in the playoffs or missing out.

For me in the Championship, I'd look at
Fellows - WBA
Azaz - Boro
Burrows - Sheff United
Rigg - Sunderland
Hume - Sunderland

Rigg is the one. He should be up there with Delap as the top target.

With Fellows, it looks quite certain that he will join us this summer. West brom needs to find 10 millions for psr this season if not promoted which looks extremely unlikely. They took a bit of a gamble rejecting our offer on deadline day hoping that they might be able to fight for promotion. Now they have to sell.. and possibly would not get as much as what we supposedly offered in January more so knowing fair well they have to sell before June.

Thats interesting. Would expect Moyes to want a player like him...

...he looks slow though.

I would really like to see some stats for speed and dribbles for Fellows as each time I see him (about 5/6 times) he dosent seem to have a lot of pace
He is a good footballer but that step up becomes more difficult without pace
As a alternative Doak at Boro tore Gvardiol a new one playing for Scotland against Croatia

100% agree and Doak looks rapid with end product. Fellows looks like he has a great cross and otherwise limited by a lack of pace.

You not like the other two lads at sunderland neil and cirkin.

Rigg already looks superior to Neil.

Newcastle barring a disaster will be in CL next season so they'll need depth so can't see Barnes moving.

Said before but think Joe Willock might be realistic if he dosen't have long left on his deal although Longstaff is linked more. Neither will be getting many games next season if their first choice midfield unit stays fit.

Was thinking watching the game Matty Cash would be a good pick up if he's made available e.g. they sign a new RB in the summer. Been playing in the prem since 2020 and still reasonably young and athletic. Not amazing but you don't have to be to improve the 11 here with the poverty of options at RB if J O'B does well moving centrally as I suspect he will.

As someone else posted the other day, Miley at Newcastle may be sacrificed for PSR. Hes only really been a sub this season.

10 sub in league+ 2 in league cup
1 start in league and 3 in FACup

That boy instantly competes with Garner & Garner and has huge upside.

Do think we’ve got to do everything in our power to get Liam Delap in, he’d be perfect for us and we’d be the logical next step in his career.

He and Rigg should be the main targets.

We get them in and we begin to have an exciting English long term core.

Haven't seen more than 3 games where Rigg has been involved but all 3 times he looked very good.I have watched most of the Boro games this year as I watch with a Boro mate. Doak excellent Hackney a good prospect Azaz is a really skillful player but disappears when it gets to physical. Rav Vander berg has been our for long time with injuries but was excellent last year and late last yearr and still only 20. As center halfs go I think Esteve at Burnley is the pick of the crop.

Rigg looks high energy and very positive in his play. He looks different to Armstrong in many ways and I'd hope they could mould into a partnership over the coming seasons.

In isolation, i think hes going to the top.

Doak and Hackney ive only seen highlights of but they look good as well.

Esteve ive seen more of in the past and hes always looked like he could step up highly just like the centre back at Palace Lacroix.

If we could sign Delap and Rigg then i think we'll be on the right track.

All 5 of these signings are great prospects with high ceilings especially Rigg and Fellows.

Their profiles of hard working players which fits Moyes' profiles to a tee.

Like I said promotion and playoffs will decide a lot of these boys fate

Whilst i reslise Moyes wants to finish as highly as possible, i am a little concerned he is giving Broja, Harrison and Doucoure so many minutes.
We face going into the summer not knowing if chermiti has what it takes, or giving alcaraz the minutes at number 10 position he needs to show if he is up to it or not.

Agree. I’m absolutely certain that Alcaraz will pop up in the Prem somewhere if we don’t sign him and have a decent season.

I think if his only chances are 10-15 minutes coming off the bench when replacing tiring first 11 players, in a position he's not suited to, then thats very difficult to show his talents.
We face a very real prospect of him leaving us without anyone knowing if he has what it takes.
I cant help but feel this was a Thelwell signing that Moyes was not on board with and he is being very stubborn about it.

Moyes ultimately is trying to get results so will go safety first against the bigger teams especially Ipswich and Saints will be the interesting games he has to give the likes of Patterson, Alcaraz a go or he clearly doesn't see a future for them with us

Leon osman didn't have pace
