2024/25 David Moyes

I think there are lots of things to do in the summer and changing managers isn’t (and almost certainly won’t be) one of them.

  • "If we get the players in over the summer and Moyes starts struggling next season, that will be a different scenario"

It shouldn't be, being my whole point.

We shouldn't be sacking any manager next season, given the build we have this summer.

Nor thinking "give Moyes a few months an make a call depending on results" as though we'll learn anything about him.

It's so tricky because on the one hand this is absolutely correct. For a long time we've suffered from being reactive rather than proactive. Always putting out fires instead of planning and building, and that's culminated in the clubs worst period in living memory. This summer is the perfect opportunity to break that cycle and start with basically a clean slate, building something cohesive with clear direction.

On the other hand, we're actually moving in the right direction for the first time in a long time. Fans and players both have renewed optimism, if we replaced Moyes and it didn't work out the consequences would be catastrophic, and things would turn toxic again very fast.

It's a massive decision, and probably much less cut and dry than it seems to a lot of fans, myself included. Just have to cross our fingers and hope that TFG know what they're doing.

Please - who exactly do you think they would want to bring in enough to fire Moyes? Mourinho! Franck? Potter? Southgate?
Lets be serious, I cannot think of an available manager they would prefer over Moyes with the exception of Carlo.

Not a scooby how the topic of Moyes leaving or being booted has crept up, he’s doing a brilliant job and also proving how bad the previous fraud was in the process.

Let the man cook over the summer and back him, see where he can take us.
