Media bias towards certain clubs

it is fairly sickening, when I watch SKY or TNT, and its other teams in the premier league, normally they find a couple of ex players from either team to be pundits and one of the usual suspects from Liverpool or Man utd.

However when we play, its 3 ex-Liverpool players and sometimes Kelly Dalgleish presenting. Even if we have won 3-0, we will still get torn to shreds or be deemed "lucky" or "in the relegation dogfight" at all times.

Happy to report that I continue to have no regrets over my decision to ditch Skysports a year or so ago. It was their total lack of journalistic input into the coverage of points deductions by the Premier League that was the final straw. Sky are the media wing of the football commercial gravy train.

I do miss the cricket in the summer, though ...

This is a point I think was badly missed during the fan campaigns during the whole points deduction debacle. The line from the prominent voices in the media when the Sky 6 tried to kill the English football pyramid was "you cant punish the fans". So basically, let's just let these scumbags off scot-free because some telly clappers will complain.

There should have been a banner saying "you can't punish (certain) fans" or something like that. The PL has become a reality TV show where the 'storylines' are heavily manipulated and aimed towards the international markets. No true football fan wants to hear endless talk about United's struggles or Liverpool's constant success (real or exaggerated). But some nobhead in China probably does, and it's their clicks and subscriptions they want.

Football in this country essentially poisoned itself in 1992 and has been dying slowly ever since, just post-COVID it's ramped up more than ever. Now we barely recognise the game at all. I dont know why any kid would want to watch now unless programmed to support one of the Sky lot, why bother otherwise? Might as well watch women's footy which at least still has a purity, a "anything can and will happen" feel about it.

Packed in SKY after a 3-2 home defeat to champions elect man city, when I got in after the game various forums were saying Tyler was nearly in tears,he questioned our integrity in the game as the RS were involved in the race for the title and the inference was we had pretty much "thrown it", watched it back on catch up and it was true so I cancelled on the spot.

If we had a better team, we’d get more coverage. The end.
United get a lot of media coverage, they're useless. Chelsea have won more Premier League titles than RS and won Champions League twice, they don't get same media attention as RS. Whenever United or RS struggle, there is endless media attention, "why aren't they in their rightful place"? There was some ridiculous statistic that between 93 and 06 only 3 penalties were given to opposition teams at Old Trafford. Liverpool have got penalties in 1 game at Goodison than we have got at Anfield in 25 years.

I remember that one, Liverpool fans were furious with us for throwing the game, after spending the whole season laughing at us and telling us we are crap, to suddenly telling us that we were guilty of throwing a game against the best team in the league.

Not necessarily, when Liverpool have had average seasons their coverage has still been very high. Coverage is not relative to a team quality at that time.

City used to be an afterthought and then they won the league..

Liverpool and Man Utd will always have big coverage as they are huge clubs. That’s just reality. Being good teams started the cycle.
