One thing I've started to notice in recent years is how media bias influences refereeing decisions and even VAR decisions. Mouriniho pointed out that a ridiculous amount of pundits are ex RS, and I think it explains why they get so many decisions. Look at uproar when decision went against them against Spurs last season, when Deli Ali punched ball out against us, no such uproar. The only reason why Rodris handball was considered an issue, was because it affected RS in my opinion. Roy Keane admitted to deliberately injuring Alfie Haaland, yet is still given a platform, Carragher spat at a child, keeps his job. If fans boycotted Sky Sports and other platforms, do you think we would get fairer officiating in Premier League?

Telly Clappers will never ever boycott skysports etc. The majority of PL Telly Clappers around the globe are Man Utd and RS fans hence why the majority of pundits on sky, Tnt..are ex mancs and kopites to appease, mind massage and suck up to these fans in order to keep their viewings figures high and load their pockets.

Incidentally I googled the meaning of Telly Clappers and the first 2 articles that come up involve the rs

BBC did a story on the biggest spenders on Agents’ Fees. They did a big graphic of the top 6 spenders. LFC were seventh but if you were a casual observer they were not part of the conversation.

@chicoazul when did we turn into RAWK??

I don't watch the games on Sky and regardless of what platform, I also filter out the pre- and post-match analysis. At one point on Sky they could have two hours of it, ridiculous.

But the slanted coverage is even more pervasive than anything Sky might serve up anyway. It's veering into propaganda.

It's really driven by the RS and Utd. It's nothing to do with league position as the contrast between them this year shows.

RS are sort of the nations favourite and even the underdog whereas Utd are the glitzy Hollywood club that have now gone a bit wild.

It's like everyone is clapping the RS to the title and it's everyone's preoccupation why Utd are so bad and what can be done about it.

The coverage is just so pervasive for them. I like to watch the news when having my evening meal, and it's almost obligatory that the latest utterances of Slot and Amorim are carried on the "sports" news when it's just pure cliched rubbish. I can't even watch the news anymore without having to turn the sound down on the "sport"

For the derby game recently, if you hadn't known who Liverpool were playing, and you might not because it was just "the news" then you would barely have been the wiser.

On the other hand I feel sorry for Utd players who are, realistically, average Premier League players and are getting the media coverage of Ballon d‘Or contenders

???
How can there be any sort of media bias against us?

Have you not seen?
Troy Deeney has put an Everton player in his team of the week for the second time this season.
It’s Tarks for some reason… but don’t knock the extensive positive representation.

The whole “Sky” thing is bent towards Liverpool and man united as they have the most glory hunters and telly clappers across the planet.

That’s always been the case and probably never going to change.

I mean they even have Neville and Spitty Carragher as permanent fixtures to appease the fan bases.

Talksport is no different. It’s all about those two and the rest are just fill ins.

I think it does have an impact that they are so infested at every level of media, anything against them is enormously blown up unlike any other team and then they have everything go their way for several games as it puts pressure on the refs. You then see their players rarely booked, missing blatant sending offs and they'll given numerous penalties.

I reckon we also suffer as anything we do or get away with is blown up in the kopite media, as they'll love to take digs at us and it'll be to target clicks from their fans; Pickford's and Tarkowski's tackles leading to death threats, Doucoure's celebration which then led to racist abuse, we then see us hardly getting any decisions in games and VAR overturning blatantly obvious decisions that should have gone our way.

I unsubscribed from Sky about 15 years ago when I watched a derby game and it was all about them feeling like Kopite TV. All the other broadcasters are just as bad... Michael Owen on commentary? just why?

These days BBC is just as bad, maybe they do it for the clicks but they constantly have stories about them so I avoid that too.

I stick to here, Everton fan podcasts and Athletic stories.

I only watch our games on Sky and normally watch the EFL games or put a SPL game or Rugby match if they are showing another PL game. I gave up listening to the pre match talking years ago and turn it on right on KO time so I don`t even know who are talking rubbish before or after. HT I get up for a cuppa and get some fresh air.
