The Now-Irrelevant 2024/25 Relegation Battle (Without Everton!)

You do know it’s not mutually exclusive to enjoy the wonderful job Moyes is doing and also admit that we wouldn’t have gone down under Dyche. People trying to convince themselves he might have lost every game. The bottom 3 are rank, we weren’t going down, it just looks stupid to try and convince yourself otherwise just because you don’t like him. Ipswich are on 20 points ffs.
I have no ill will towards Dyche whatsoever and am thankful for the 18 months or so of his management before this season. Even he admits things were stale and needed a new face in as manager. His appetite was clearly gone for the fight this season and that's a dangerous situation when hovering around the relegation zone. Ultimately the club more than likely would have stayed up under Dyche. However if Leicester made a decent managerial appointment the hypothetical situation might not be as clear

Dion Dublin won the golden boot once, playing for Coventry. In a season that had fixtures like Barnsley v Wimbledon. Derby County finished top half.

The very top Prem clubs are all a bit weaker than 2 or 3 years ago, but Newcastle, Forest and Villa have their best sides in a generation and Brentford, Bournemouth and Brighton have pretty much their best sides ever.

It’s a strong league. It’s trendy to knock it but still as strong as any in the world. (5 are still in Europe in April btw)
People only spout that crap because the RS are going to win the league.

Want wolves to batter spurs
Really don't know why Spurs have persisted with Ange this season. They have had a fair amount of injuries but it's just not going to work for them with him in charge unless they have someone agreed already to take over in the summer

And if the answer they have is Everton I will be quickly up to the quizmaster to explain that the Carabao Cup game technically ended in a draw.
Exactly. We drew the match but lost the tie on penalties.

People are quick to decry the RS when they win cup after cup on pens but then use it to beat up their own team.

They're waiting til the summer and they'll go for Iraola

We 100% would have got relegated under the Talksport host.
What Moyes done was take the hope away from the bottom 3 quickly...he effectively beat them mentally by moving us away drop in a matter of weeks.

If Dyche was still here we'd have been in it till the death, with a toxic ground,a toxic squad, and a toxic manager.

Ipswich and Leicester would have fancied catch us because we were such a shambles top to bottom.
