2024/25 Abdoulaye Doucoure

He'll always be in credit with me after those goals against Brighton & Bournemouth.

The money's obviously a factor and we're in a good bargaining position. No one's giving him that kind of money.

But if he gets a new contract, I think Moyes will play him next season. That could stop Nidaye, Alcaraz or McNeil playing there.

But that's for another day. Enjoying injury time winner and MOTD.

No matter if we resign him or not, seems a hell of a nice guy. But no way does his play equate to what he earns per week. If he took a deep home town discount, then I’d be alright with him staying and being a solid 60’ sub.

Some stat that.

….Moyes full of praise for his performances in his post-match interview, smiling at the pen/paper celebration.

I’m perfectly ok giving him another deal, he clearly wants to stay.
I agree. One year extension on significant reduced wages as squad player is fine.

I’ve seen way better than Doucs but the hate he gets on here sometimes imo is unwarranted. He’s our guy until he’s not our guy. He sometimes is a rally killer but so is everyone out there at times. When I watch him, I try to put the words in here out of my head and I usually enjoy seeing how disruptive he is to other clubs. Pleased for him today. Great link up with McNeil and excellent finish with poise.
McNeil pass was very Lucky seemed to go through the defenders legs.
What I would say is, we’ve won 1 in 7, with better players than Harrison, doucoure and Beto, we probably win 4 or 5
That’s the bigger picture

Wouldnt be against him staying as squad player

His pass completion must be one of the lowest for a midfielder in the league
Yet his interceptions and and workrate must be one of the highest.

To sum him up he is a poor midfielder but also effective.

Ye go from "oh well payed lad great tackle to FFS what was that in less than a second"
