What a true shame it is what has happened in America. For me it’s by far the world’s greatest country and I won’t hear any different. The diversity whether it be the people, the culture, the landscape or even the weather.

I'm pessimistic about the world economy because everyone is so intricately linked. if you remove your largest buyer then you shift everything. nothing permanent, but a multi year recession is definitely in the cards unless something changes.

on the other hand, America backing off and another nation emerging is probably a very good thing (which itself may heal the economy, etc). if this blows over and America is still a leader at the negotiating table, we're all in a much worse position than we are today.

I don't think Europe can afford to let the US hold their hands and guide them. Faithfully following big brother has led to laziness and has stunted development. I think they finally understand this. If they haven't grasped it now, I agree, the US will dominate and we'll all become their serfs. But it seems like the Orange overlord has succeeded in uniting Europe.
