One absolute whopper at work today nearly in tears because I wouldn’t agree that Tarkowski should receive a retrospective 3 match ban, he looked at me all confused and said “ You aren’t even ashamed are you”? obviously I replied that my only shame was that Tarkowski didn't have to prise the remnants of Macalisters kneecap off his boot with a penknife. He genuinely seemed traumatised, the little quilt!
Just in case you'd forgotten like

Ask if he is ashamed of this the absolute bell whiff

Go into work with a Madrid shirt with Trent on the back, he'll have a nervous breakdown, they are such entitled nobheads.

By the rules, Diaz is not offside for the goal....but that part of the rule needs to change, you don't always move to the ball in football...at times you do stand still.

Every movement or where a player is standing will affect the opposition and where they supsiquently stand or move too, hence for me he SHOULD be off-side.
Honestly, I have no idea what the offside rule is any more. If Tarkowski leaves that ball and Diaz takes one step towards it then he's definitely offside. If Tarkowski plays it and Diaz doesn't get near it apparently he's not offside, despite the fact that Tarkowski only plays it because he can't be sure if Diaz is onside or not. That's my understanding, which is probably wrong, but, if it's right, means the rules are completely nonsensical. I'm not sure why they have to change the offside rule every single season. It certainly hasn't made football more fun to watch. Top level football becomes more of a chore to watch every season.

BBC have an article on the foul and the offside decision.

Foul gets 5 headings and a ‘have your say”.

Offside gets 1 heading!
Ya saw that this morning and went down to the comment section. 3rd comment down I just had to screenshot it at the time. They just will never let it go 😂 😂

It’s another game though where every one of their players look quicker than ours. It was probably only Beto who is playing at the same pace as them. Until we put an 11 out who can match them for speed we’re not going to be beating them regularly. We need to stop buying slow players. Even some of our better ones like Gueye Alcaraz Tarkwoski, they’re too slow. Harrison is too slow, so is McNeil, even O Brien was getting pegged back every time Dias got it.

We need real pace in midfield, out wide and upfront to compete again. That’s something the 13/14 team had in spades with McCarthy Barkley Coleman Baines Lukaku Mirallas Distin Stones Jags could all shift. Moyes’s previous teams of Pienaar Osman Arteta Cahill just got ran over by Liverpool teams who are bigger and faster.

We need pace everywhere to compete.

VVD

crazy. The var check for Beto didn’t even draw any lines and the image they had on didn’t even have the ball in the picture to show the frame it was actually passed
Ya no lines drawn so how did they come up with it being a definite offside. Was the line technology not working and they went with the on field decision? At the time thought Beto was inline with the rs shoulder

It’s everywhere. Saw one fan call for Tarks and Pickford to be arrested 🤣.

Feel sorry for the ref, people saying it was too big for him etc. He wasn’t actually allowed to ref the game, big Virg was in charge (ripping the ball out of the refs hands and telling him it was an uncontested drop ball to their player in their half rather than what the ref had planned to do to restart the game).

Assertion on Sky that “only Tarkowski knows” whether the offside player interfered with his decision making. Erm. That’s a funny rule then if only one person in the world knows the truth, but that person can’t have any input on the decision. Pfft. If the player wasn’t there Tarks doesn’t lunge and stab the ball aimlessly into a dangerous area. He’s played 500 times at this level. Trying to overcomplicate it with wordings and line of sight nonsense. It’s the simplest decision of the night, totally wrong, and barely mentioned other than by Moyes.

Also no mention of VVD trying to do an accidental stamp on Beto’s arm, fortunately, just like his attempted clearance, he missed.
No wonder refs are generally biased towards them. Every decision that they make that the rs don't like is forensically analysed and criticised by that lot and the media vastly more than any other club I can think of. Last 2 derbies being the prime example of that with headlines being 'controversial derby' with the so called controversial calls going against them being analysed to the hilt compared to ones against us.
No doubt refs go into Liverpool games knowing they will be scrutinised under a microscope if they don't side towards them far more than any other team
