Technical ability in the final third is the main issue we cannot win games, the amount of times we had good positions and the ball was poor or misplace or just lost was awful, Doucoure and Harrison the main culprits.
The game was there for the taking again in the first half but I thought we were poor in the second half and didn't deserve anything out of the game in the end.
We have to get more ability in the forward areas if we want to move upwards

Clicked into this thinking it was about the Liverpool offside goal but no. 3 of the first 4 paragraphs dominated by "Tarkowski's horrible tackle" repeated over and over. Gave up reading it. No doubt if the tackle and the goal were the other way round I'd be reading something different

I was listening to a bit of the game on 5Live last night. The language used about both decisions was telling.

Tarkowski - horror tackle, definite contraversial decision, huge talking point, lucky to be on the pitch.

Jota goal - perhaps a point for conversation, reason to be aggrieved, Liverpool will feel they got lucky.

Whether it's deliberate or unconscious, it's a definite difference in the language and framing.

It is evident that really anything up the field is not a strong area for us, and against lower table teams it is not as bad as we typically won't be under as much pressure and spend a lot in iut own half, but it's clear against top half teams that we still have to rely on set pieces or counter attacks as we cannot build the play high up the pitch due to the players like Doucs, Harrison and Garner.

We definitely need to strengthen this area of the pitch in the summer and thankfully 2 of these should be going!

Will be happy if we win the league again , did celebrate but at least no mass hysteria or pitch invasion for being 4th worse team or drawing 2 all.
It's bizarre how Liverpool fans genuinely believe this. For both derby games this season, you've been poor and most have felt disappointed we haven't won.

You're going to win the league at a canter, are you that emotionally fragile that you need to pretend that everyone is obsessed with you as well?

I actually feel less bothered by this than I thought. We stood up to them, we had an offside goal, we hit the post and we limited their chances. Was their goal offside? I’m thinking it was but the media have been quick to work out why it was onside and then also slaughter Tarky, which is fair was a bad tackle and should have been a red. But let’s have it right, their starting line up consisted of 300millon odd of players whereas we are starting 2 players who are on loan. Says a lot really.
This.

Thanks to great folks on this forum I was at the game last night (ticking off my final ground in the PL as well). Usually after a loss in that manner I will rue over it for a good few hours and struggle to sleep. Well I still did whilst driving back last night and but managed to fall asleep as soon as I laid down.

The walk down to theirs from where I usually park for Goodison did stink by the way! Onto Saturday 🔵

I thought the commentator on Sky was going to cardiac arrest when they scored. There is definitely something in what you say - mostly probably unconscious but they don’t half get excited when that lot do anything!

Bottom line for me is that the game and their reaction to it shows they know the biggest game in their season is Everton. Emotionally there's nothing that gets near it. So for all their talk about our cup final they know that we get under their skin like no other club in the world and they know we'll never sink out the top flight and go away....and they also know that at some point we'll be there again challenging.

They detest Everton. They know we're the club that exposes their lack of authenticity. Note the banner last night (a direct rip off of the Goodison banner a few weeks back). They hate Everton more than your United's and City's and Chelsea's. They always will, and for good reason.

Is Moyes similarly ignorant of the rules, given his post-match interview claim that Diaz was offside? That'd surprise me.

But fiddle dee dee, as a practical matter the offside rule, like the rules around fouls and booking, are largely left to the ref's discretion and subject to the sort of human error, bias, and luck that help keep the game interesting. I still would've preferred a scoreless draw to a loss, though.

Our goal was closer to being onside than there's, but this is anfield..

No hanging about are they 🤣😡
Tarkowski should have been sent off for Mac Allister tackle - PGMOL

No comment on the off side yet like.

All of that can be true but launching like that at knee height in a deliberate attempt to catch the other player has no part in the game and should always be a red. He could have easily cleared the ball without following through and catching the other lad. He just decided he wanted to leave one on him. It has no place in the game and it's embarrassing when one of our players does it ( and it's not the first time with him). Take the blue tinted 1970s specs off.
'Knee-high'? What game were you watching?

100%. It's subtle but very deliberate in my view.
