Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Christ. Your need sounds like it was a lot greater than mine! Glad it’s all worked out for you.

It’s a challenge in itself, finding a routine I can work to and pose the lowest risk possible to my back. I’m not a proud fella so I’ll do whatever I need to, to try to maintain what fitness I have and drop a bit of timber. If it means Speedos and yoga kecks so be it. Lock up your grandmothers, IOM!
Never experienced pain like it. S1 nerve completely suppressed for months as my Op was postponed. That delay did huge damage to me physically but mentally no as I have a rock solid support network.

I now meet the criteria for PIP as I’m disabled officially 😀. I’m still earning well and putting on my Club top and doing the Parish proud.

Yep. It'll be a bind to leave Mawnan Smith as I love the area. But I will have been here over 6 years and it's difficult when you don't drive. I'll have a more sociable life in Truro, not to mention more independence. Plus the apartment really is very nice and has everything I need and more. There's a direct bus to the airport too. My favourite pub, The Old Alehouse, has live bands on a weekend and my favourite beer is an hours bus journey away at The Blue Anchor in Helston. It's a no brainer really.

I’m really pleased for you Fred……

Cheers mate. Even before any of this lark I knew I had terrible range of motion through my hips in particular. Should have got onto yoga years ago, but better late than never and all that!

You need to try the couldn’t be arsed position, which takes years to master. It involves sitting in a comfy chair most of the day then going the pub and sitting in your usual seat while playing dominoes or just drinking. I’ve been practicing it for a few years now and never had a bad back………..

That was a cracker ,I chuckled all the time making a cuppa -the wife asked me what was going on .

Good morning all on this overcast one here .I hope all had a good night and are well / better .
Have I ever mentioned we have lemon tea on Tuesdays as the wife cannot have dairy with her pills ,I put a piece of ginger and a twinge of honey ( The wifes words ) it makes a nice change from PG tips although we ran out of them last week and had Yorkshire tea ,it is all excitement here I sometims find it hard to contain myself !
Have a great day all and if you do meet Fred @Val P give yourself plenty of time for the ironing as he keeps finding more .COYB

Good on yer mate, it’s not easy changing locations as you get older but from what I’ve gathered over the years you have a high degree of gregariousness that will enable you to fit in to any new location. It may take a while but good luck with your eventual move.

Cheers BL. I think it's time for me to move on. I just hope we get decent weather this year so I can make the most of the wonderful walks and beaches I have on my doorstep.

Happy Anniversary Val. Hope you and Mr P have a great time tonight and hope your taste buds are in good enough shape to savour the food.

I've been to the beach version a couple of times with Rob, but I went to Fowey once with Cal many moons ago and still remember what I had it was so good. Deep fried squid with chilli and garlic, followed by red snapper fillets that had been lightly dusted with a spice/flour mix then shallow fried. Makes me want to go back there just thinking about it. 😀
