The ferries are barely if at all profitable and I don't envisage them throwing more money at another terminal that is only required 25-30 days a year as romantic as it sounds. The only target market here is those around Seacombe where there isn't a nearby rail station. People can just as easily drive to a merseyrail station and catch a train.
I thought mersey ferry is one of the more profitable elements of merseytravel or tourism, hence building a new ferry for 25mill. Could be wrong mind.

Not sure if a deal can be done with the isle of man terminal on match days to stop the fatties crying about a 25 min walk
 

The ferry is a good idea, hopefully it’s taken up so that it becomes a regular thing.

Funny that they’ve said Merseyrail will be running a 15 min schedule on the northern lines instead of a 30 mins. “Extra trains” they’re saying, when it’ll be a normal service for every other day of the week

To take people where? Genuine question. They can fit about 250 people on. If it’s to Birkenhead yes, to town? What’s the point, that’s a 10 minute ferry ride for 200 people.

Back to Birkenhead, say you had a dedicated match one that does 4 trips either side of the game. That's 1000 people that didn't go to Sandhills or clog the tunnels.

I can appreciate that, but out of ~50k it’s not even gonna touch the sides. As I said though, this is a limitation of the location and a little blame of council for not I’d identifying this very early, and the club too. They knew they had to fill a ground ~50k fans and had a responsibility to make it know the location was problematic.

Logically it will help.

A problem with a riverside stadium is that a crowd csn only approach it from routes in a 180 degree arc ... half what an inland stadium has.

Make use if the water.

Boat pier actually at the stadium would be amazing, but I saw someone on bluesky reckon that it would cost £60m. Seems pricey for a concrete float and a few tractor tires, but I know nothing about such things obvs..

You have to factor in the British establishment ... various people / bodies who need to be paid for permission / tax / health and safety / environment tax / god knows what else, too many fingers in so many pies. Old tractor tyres not good for the environment so must buy new / environment tax and energy needed to make concrete / magic circle involvement making the concrete float / money for old rope to tie it up.

Then you have contractors, preferred masonic civil engineers, kickbacks for the decision makers, various other approvals from other stake holders and a bit of snake oil.

Inevitably the council and the government will want their slices for permissions too.

60m for a float chained to a concrete wall and a few tyres sounds cheap in today's rip-off Britain.

I've just had a quote of nearly £2000 for a dropped kerb - 5 kerbs for a council approved (they paid a hefty amount for permission to work for the council) couple if men, a digger and an afternoon's work. the quote details the gravel needed underneath rhe tarmac. Why are they providing and charging for gravel when they MUST take gravel away to create a slope? Am I the only person ever to question this?
