He usually is. It's a con that he is a world class defender. He is good, possibly top 5 in the league, but gets caught out of position far too often to be a top class centre back

I had this with my deluded RS mate a while ago, now there is no denying Van Dijk is quality, but my RS mate reckons he is the best centre half there has ever been. I reeled of a list of names who were better than him, he wasn’t having any of it and the the only name on that list that he begrudgingly accepted was better than him was Maldini, but he said there wasn’t much in it!

Never been inside Anfield, but that pitch of theirs is like a subbutteo pitch isn't it. Freaking tiny. Must be the easiest ground on the planet to get to the corner of the penalty area. Last night it was just penno box to penno box every five seconds, both teams.

I honestly believe it's been a factor in them overrunning superior European opposition over the years.
