Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I think we need a vastly bigger squad than 22 players.

We need to name 20 for every PL game.

I suppose theres the thinking that youth players can pick up the slack, that seems very unlikely to me, I dont think we have a wealth of players ready to step into the first time squad, not yet.

So for me, 14 players, we need 11 or 12.

Underage players dont need to be named.
26 😯

I personally subscribe to the Don Carlo view of a smaller squad around 20-21 players. I mean IF we could get a bunch of stars to sign for cheap and sit on their bench I suppose we could mess with the time-honored tradition of filling the bench with keepers...

And I don't think the underaged can legally be named

Keane has to go. I don’t want there to be any chance he can get on the pitch.

If we’re looking at 4 CBs in the squad then the perfect mix for me would be the older statesman in Tarkowski, two prime players in OBrien and Branthwaite, and then we should be looking to bring through a young academy CB or prospect who doesn’t mind sitting on the bench for a year and playing early round of cup games.

I’d rather a young prospect made mistakes than watch Michael Keane throw points away again because he’s done absolutely nothing to solve his persistent performance anxiety.
Agree a CB who can also cover full back positions would be good. Keane needs to go

And as you know, a LOT of them are currently injured, which means our bench has slim pickings, you remove 3 players from that list and we are a bit in the poo.

linked to Dusan Vlahovic, striker from Juventus for £25m, a few seasons ago this lad was tipped for greatness and Juve paid Fiorentina £70m for him. bit of a surprise that Juve want to sell, he has scored 14 in 34 this season. If he really is available for that kind of money I would think plenty of clubs would be in for him.

They just talk .... Never going for 25m. Goal record & age he will demand double that.

just had a look and he is on £12m a season (just over £230k a week), that could explain why Juve want to sell, I think we should steer clear, we would be docked 30 points as soon as he signed!

We must address the full back and winger postitions in the summer. If we could find one wide forward with pace and who could weigh in with goals it could transform our team also takes the burden off who is up front a bit.
especially with Ndiaye on the other wing, playing under Moyes from the start of the season, could easily get double figures

A player I would like us to go after is Mateus Fernandez of southampton he has had a good season even if the saints have been awful and only 20 years old. A saints friend also stated he has been much better than dibbling this year.
I mentioned the same in a previous post. Not sure if he's too similar to Alcaraz. Both good, young players. Think Fernandes may be more expensive though...

Reckon we will bring in less players than people are expecting without sales. Strikers and wingers are often the most expensive players. A lot of people aren’t factoring in the Alcaraz fee which we will have to pay too.

We will defo use the loan market with view to buy but my guess is 4-5 significant signings for decent money.

Better to buy less, quality players, than fill the squad with average players we can’t shift on.

Think we’ll also extend contracts of some players people want us to get rid of as we can’t afford to buy too many players in one window.

That does feel like a lot, I suppose Ive only seen about half of them this season.

I MIGHT suggest that this years squad is bloated because the bottom part of the squad is so rubbish that we kept loaning players in a hope for less rubbish.
