New Everton Stadium

Don't think that United stadium gets built.

Definitely not "in five years."

That'll be five years site time. It won't even be designed to any serious level yet.

That has to be one of the biggest joke stadiums I have ever seen. Hahaha. Genuinely hilarious.

Also interesting how he says, "If the Govt. help with funding, we will have a top stadium". Sound very different to Burnham saying they will pay for the relocation of industrial transport networks to enable the stadium to be located where they want it. Work that in itself will take 5 years, never mind the stadium itself.

Yeah, the “by 2030, no later than 2032,” timescales are bananas.

The funding alone is a colossal barrier.

Given how closely they are sailing to the wind, there’s a very real chance they find lending for this impossible.

Yes, I'm thinking a more realistic time-frame would be "not in my lifetime". They're relying on a major input of taxpayer funds for the housing etc that makes the stadium a viable project, which in itself would take years of consultation and planning permissions. This is town-planning at the highest level. Absolutely no chance of that being open five years from now. Ratcliffe himself will be gone by then, but I guess if he sells to another human-rights-hating middle-eastern theocracy, they'll at least like the look of the minarets in the sketches.

United one shows how costs ramp up, will be twice the capacity but three times the cost and like you say I’m not sure how much more cost we could have survived.
Costs will spiral massively on a project of that scale. I really hope they build it! On another note, can you imagine the atmosphere in that vast bowl. Its certainly not been designed with the intense atmosphere in mind!

Our former small time Chairman and owner have absolutely knackered us with a capacity of only 50k.
Modern football doesn't need massive stadia. We will comfortably sell out 55k and have a big increase in match day revenue.

Also worth remembering, United already own the land so don't have to pay 150m million just to secure somewhere.

I'll also be amazed if they build exactly what the concept shows. Costs will inevitably rise and they will cut things from the original design.
