2024/25 David Moyes

I definitely get your last point and the second half of the Man U game already brought those memories back for me. But I think a point away against a side that is currently playing well and looked well coached is ok. You mentioned yourself in the match thread that they were well set-up tactically (to paraphrase you a bit)

They’ve been playing well recently. Two good performances at Bournemouth, unlucky to lose at the pit, beat Villa quite easily at Molineux etc

I accept all that; we've been a lot more threatening under Moyes overall, which is what makes it all the more frustrating when games are there on a plate to be won and we fail to be aggressive.

We're a mid table team at best, relegation team at worst, he's done wonders for us since he arrived and basically took us out of the relegation fight, I'm not sure why some people have formed a delusion we should be winning every single game now, a point away at Wolves who have more to fight for now as they're still in the relegation fight is fine and when you throw in our injuries, it's a decent point
Correct mate...There are some very short memories knocking about.

This is poor squad and we're still picking up points.

I said a week or so this run has lulled blues into a false sense of security.

100% its a squad low on quality, particularly with injuries, our mean result is drawing.

Still huge work to do, in improving it.

Most teams get a new manger bounce.
Moyes’ has lasted 2 months which has got us to 2-3 places higher in the league, which is great.
At the end of the day, he has the same accumulation of negative spend players collected over many mangers that Dyche had.
Moyes new manager bounce lasted 90 mins when we lost to Villa. Wish people would stop pretending it’s just a new manager bounce rather than him just being a decent manager.

Moyes has undeniably done very well , I only question the hunger he has that go for 3 points when it’s all square and to gamble making changes for 3 points. The really top level managers would have made changes earlier last night to go for the win ? Maybe I’m being too harsh
Not worth the risk against Wolves as a draw ensured a healthy distance from them.

Alcaraz and Tim were ready to come on at 56 mins. How early do you want these changes? He gave his half time team talk, gave it 10 to see if it had an impact and made the only realistic changes he has.

We don’t have anyone else that is good enough or fit enough to play on the bench. He said in his pre match press conference that Chermiti isnt ready for playing yet, neither is Coleman. So half the bench are just warm bodies.

Dont underestimate the effect of 3 seasons of intense worry and mindset of the squad around relegation. This is the first time this season the team realise they are safe. Im not surprised they are starting to drop off a bit.
Its not what the manager will accept, but we have nothing to play for now except impressing the manager.
Doucoure, harrison and lindstrom already know they are not in the plans going forwards

Survival is practically secured after 2 months...we could have only dreamt of that the start of December.

Massive work to be done in the summer, everyone knows this but for now let's relax and enjoy it.

I will be forever grateful to Moyes for not having to worry about Premier League survival in our last few Goodison games.

Imagine going into that last few home games at GP still fighting for our lives, makes me feel sick thinking about it.

100%, we're getting our boring end of season, but we deserve it after the last three seasons and fans deserve to enjoy Goodison.

Be nice as well to bit of development work like to see Chermitti, Charly, Tim and Broja get mins with no stress on results.

this has been Moyes from 2003...he's never had that hunger, he'll take a draw as his default option.
Not got the best bench to choose from though

🤔
Probably not.
