Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

From the BBC gossip section:

West Ham, Wolves and Everton are interested in Abraham, with the Hammers having begun talks with his representatives over a potential move. (Calciomercato - in Italian)

Everton will push to sign Denmark midfielder Christian Norgaard, 30, when his contract expires at Brentford in the summer. (Football Insider)

I like Norgaard. Decent work rate but maybe a bit old.

In all fairness mate, if you look at say Ndiaye, Alcaraz, O'Brien etc we are paying a lot less than 40m.
I agree but they were brought in by a DOF. Now we've got rid of that model we'll no doubt have to buy from the top flight in Portugal, Italy etc, or get players from relegated PL clubs again so we'll be spending £30 to £40 million on them.

Have we got rid of that model? Has it been confirmed? Even if we have it will be that model which prepares us for this summer’s transfer window with the targets already having been identified.

From press reports it looks like we are getting rid of the model. We need to hope we can bring players through from the younger age teams if we're going back to the manager buying players, as they simply don't have the time to keep up with the leagues and players that the likes of Brighton bring in their players from.

there are quality players around Europe for lower fees, Bournemouth signed Semanyo for £10 million so ot can be done.

Just hope Moyes doesn't go for 30 year old players on last pay day
Again, Bournemouth have a modern set-up with a team that acquires players and a head coach who uses them. We are going back to the dark ages so won't even look at players like Semenyo because he wasn't obvious.

Its a slight worry as we have been linked with two already, under Thelwell he was looking at under 27 year olds. My main worry with handing total control to Moyes is that whilst West Ham signed a few decent players plus a fair bit of rubbish, some of the actual deals were shockers, they massively overpaid on many of them.
