I think we are keeping him as part of the backroom staff, and rightly soOn this day 4th Feb 2025 we had been paying Samus 80k a week for 4 years to play roughly 10 games
It was only announced by the club that day. Radio Merseyside announced it on the 3rd. There was a post on Everton’s social media pages a few weeks back that we signed him on 31st Jan. it couldn’t have been the 4th because the transfer window closed on the 1stOn this day ( 4th February 2009 ) We signed Seamus Coleman from Sligo Rovers for £60,000

Good to see he’ll be ready to answer his country’s call for those crucial Nations League fixtures in March.
It is.

Who`s Samus? On this day 4th Feb 2025 we had been paying Samus 80k a week for 4 years to play roughly 10 games
£4M a year is a lot for a part-time coach.I think we are keeping him as part of the backroom staff, and rightly so
Doesn't his contract run out in the summer?£4M a year is a lot for a part-time coach.
Is that what he`s been getting? That`s a lot of money to pay someone to get fit to play for Ireland and then come back to us injured.£4M a year is a lot for a part-time coach.
My problem is more with the club renewing a players contract when over the few years before that he`s been carrying injuries preventing from playing for us. N one is asking him to hand his wages back but maybe wanting the club to stop handing out contracts to players who are likely to be unavailable to play for us.The absolute state of the comments on here slating a player that's a legend and a hero among the vast majority of match going fans. We bought him for peanuts and he's been a loyal servant. What's he supposed to do? Hand back wages? As for the snidey comments on him playing for his country - speaks of an ignorance of the life of a modern pro footballer. He'll always be training and whether with Ireland or not will be getting in game time when fit.
It does. I hope his playing contract is not renewed.Doesn't his contract run out in the summer?
£80k a week, apparently. Is that what he`s been getting? That`s a lot of money to pay someone to get fit to play for Ireland and then come back to us injured.
Fine then pay him as a coach not a player. Everton FC isn't a charityI think we are keeping him as part of the backroom staff, and rightly so
