This thread tonight is just so weird. It’s fine to just say he had a poor game and missed numerous chances but has also done well recently. Not everything has to be polar, things can just be alright, we don’t have to dig people out or defend everything they do, just be normal ffs.

Needs to learn to chip and practice hard on one on one. Impressed with his speed. He got in the right positions. Clinically not so much.

I have been one his biggest supporters and even I think he got schooled tonight by the keeper. He should have put at least one of them away but you cannot get it right every night. It just don't happen even for the best strikers. And despite the misses I thought he was brilliant. He keeps us in the game and defenders have to account for him. His movement is top class- his goal against the Mancs is a great example. So easy to stray offsides there. He is improving leaps and bounds. Want to see him improve in these situations where the keeper is reading him well. Gotta have more tricks in his arsenal.

He has been reading the book by DCL one on ones - he should have come home with the match ball - if DCL had missed those you would have been going mad - Beto had an excellent game though a constant threat with his burning pace - TBH the pitch looked soaking ....

I think his finishing could have been better tonight but there were also some good saves. Other parts of his game were ok too. Not going to be too hard on the fella.

We wouldn't get much for him (£10m-ish) and he's surely at the lower end of the salary bands at Everton. DCL is gone and Beto has proven himself capable of creating problems in this division, even if his finishing is in general average at best.

We won't be signing 2 top quality strikers in the summer so might be wise to keep him on with Chermiti.

Get as good a starting striker as we can afford.

Here’s the thing, a few months ago, even just one of those chances happening was impossible to imagine. Beto has gone and had 3 incredible chances in one game. We need to recognize the tremendous improvement made by Beto and the team. The glass is half full, not half empty.

Also interesting to note that these chances are still coming to Beto despite the fact that the league is very much on to him now. He’s not an unknown anymore.

Scored 4 in 5 before tonight and could easily have had another tonight but for some good saves by their keeper and his finishing is average at best?

Poor game for him, but thats totally fine for a player to have. To be fair the last save at least was fantastic, it looked really well placed.

He had a poor game my arse. He missed chances that he should have made. If he made even one he is MOTM by far.

Really want him to succeed and he's improving massively. But some times the way he gives the ball away is bonkers. Missed 3 sitters today. Tbf he slotted them in the last few games but let us down today

Bro. I don't get it. He played well. He should have scored the chances and didn't. He has been on a firing spree recently. He was bound to miss at some point. How anyone could walk away from that and think he played poorly apart from the misses is beyond me. And he did well to create those chances for himself. If it was Ndiaye we would say he bossed the game.

The keeper read him like a book tonight. I think everyone will agree that he needs to diversify his 1on1 at some point but he has been excellent at that since he has had a run of games.
