VAR

So, Andy madley in for forest Vs arsenal and Matt Donohue on VAR for the orcs Vs Newcastle. Looks like the league were happy with their work at the weekend.
No accountability
No interviews
No explanation

Just crack on as normal, i guarantee after these midweek games there will be at least 2/3 decisions that are scandalous and will favour certain badges.

Would love the whole PL to come to a standstill in protest against these useless bellends.

You're falling into, for want of a better phrase - The Martinez 'Philosophy' Paradox.

When His 'Philosophy' didn’t work...and it increasingly didnt...his go to solution was  More Philosophy.

The correct solution is not More tech

It's Less VAR
I can see your pov, but I don’t think we should abandon or lessen the tech just because it’s being corrupted by bent officials.

We do need a decision one way or the other, as this current mess cannot be allowed to continue.

It’s either full tech/VAR to remove the corruption or have no VAR at all and the corruption remains, without the veneer of var being some kind of oversight to stop it, which it patently isn’t currently.

Correct. Fully automated VAR. it’s already in use. Why are we still relying on unconscious bias humans to do it?
This is the way for me - totally remove the corrupt human element.

Let the machines decide. I am ready to bow down to our sky net var overlords.

Every other aspect of AI can get in the bin though.

The only decisions that are not subjective are offsides and has the ball cross the line (Goal line tech is perfect)

All others like handballs, red cards, penalties are subjective and should only be done by the on field ref. VAR shouldnt get involved.

Hi Tech or no tech you wont remove the corruption...if indeed there is any

VAR is the problem, not high tech, no tech or low tech

VAR is on both sides of the equation...do a bit of cancelling out = No VAR

Whistle and 2 flags - Old Tech

@James Patrick , you gave an unsure reaction. Look at maguire’s right leg. He sticks it out in front of young and catches his left foot.

Best footage yet...cant believe Chris Sutton...not only he thinks it was the right call to cancel the penalty kick but also that young should have been sent off for simulation!!! Must be the only pundit out there. Simon Jordan also agrees that it was a dive...

Even ref watch was unanimous in thinking it was a penalty.

I fully expect the four horsemen of the apocalypse now when that effing peanut headed weapon Dermot Gallagher thinks we’ve been hard done by

Absolutely shocking from the club. I thought we were supposed to be bringing in a winning mentality and moving on from plucky old Everton lucky just to be in the same division as the big boys.
Who is going to say it though, Moyes and Thelwell just seem like fairly passive characters who won't rock the boat as such, and who knows in regards to TFG they seem to have disappeared atm. If we had ended up with someone like Textor I have no doubt he would have come out swinging with both hands!

I get this, but some of these calls need a review and the ref needs to be informed if he’s made a rick.

What I don’t agree with is the sixth form locker room, 15 voices at once all in the refs ear, going on at him, while the crowd and players are also in his lughole. That’s where it’s broken/bent.

“Madders, madders, you’ve got that wrong mate!”

“Madders, slabhead didn’t foul anyone, that’s not a pen buddy!”

“Get to the monitor and have a butchers mate, we will show you the one angle we’ve seen bud.”

It should be one voice only and all video evidence should be shown to the on field ref, and then if a specific section is needed to be seen closer/slower that is chosen by the on field ref, and further review takes place.
