VAR

So, the ref gave the pen for Maguires pull, VAR intervened to prove Maguires pull was not sufficient, reverse on field decision.

Ref did not give the pen for the De Ligt pull; which was the actual penalty. VAR deems the ref not giving a penalty for De Ligt was not clear and obvious so not enough to challenge the ref not giving it. Hence why the VAR screens focus was only on Maguire angles.

Got it. Phew. Was worried we’d been cheated.
Is that what was officially said? Absolute lunacy

Shearer agreeing it’s odd the best angle wasn’t shown, so it might not get glossed over on MOTD. Not that it makes the slightest difference to the outcome.
Var has the ability to influence the outcome with angles and slowing down enough so that it looks the way they need to fit their narrative. So the bias continues towards the big teams so that nobody can challenge their position in the league.

VAR technology should make it so that the officials watching in the studio don't know which teams are playing. They should see white/black shirts only and no distinguishing features of players apart from numbers (like the automated offside technology). The referee should not be allowed to give any indication as to who the teams or players are to aid their decision. It's so corrupt and had ruined the sport. At least you'd get fewer bent decisions if the VAR wasn't able to dictate results of every game.

We were never scoring that pen anyway. 2 consecutive injury time goals in our favour against our 2 closest rivals and the 2 biggest cheats in the league is fantasy stuff.

We go into the next game heads held high, feeling cheated and aggrieved instead of heads down feeling sorry for ourselves.

Oh, and for all those GOBSH*TES singing going down in the 1st half. You got what you deserved. It's like you've never watched Everton or Man Utd before.
