Sandhills station

I am going to ask a question out of ignorance, and I understand this is somewhat related but still largely separate from the station/platform issue, but can't Merseyrail simply add new trains to the schedule on matchdays to help with the transit issue?
It’s not the train capacity it’s the station capacity that’s the main problem, you can’t get enough people on the platform in a safe way to fill each train before it has to leave. The redevelopment of the station should have been part of the conditions of the planning application and all interested parties should have been been made to contribute to it: Everton, Peel, LCC and Merseytravel. They knew the issues as it’s all detailed in the planning application but nobody wants to pay for it now.

Print an open letter in the red echo.

blah blah blah adequate travelling capacity for all football fans blah blah blah safe and monitored means blah blah blah obvious timescale of delivery of stadium blah blah blah rabbits out of hats last minute blah blah blah does something awful have to happen before we see movement from the council? Pray someone doesn't have to be injured, or potentially worse for this clear issue to be dealt with in a full and professional manner.

Benefit of this method is it is a clear call to arms to the politicians. Once it's published it's a time bomb under someone's seat. Get a move on and fix it before it becomes a big enough problem to sink you.

Unfortunately they can’t even run a normal service so adding more trains will just cause more chaos.

Ild urge anyone to vote for that Lib Dem feller in any upcoming LCR mayoral election. There's no difference between the Starmer Tories and them anyway, so just cast a ballot to see this egregious Kopite rat out of office.

Cashman is absolutely crap, by the way. And he’s got some nasty skeletons in his closet.

Why's he boss? He turns up to take pictures at food banks, got his whip removed rightly so.

He's not benefit to his constituents.

Ian Byrne is at Goodison most weeks for the FSB. He doesn’t make a song and dance about it, he just turns up and helps.

He’s a red but he is very good people, and a much much better operator than the last Beatle off Wish

That’s not to mention his work in supporting at risk women.

Its why a second station makes a lot of sense, people heading northbound could use the smaller Sandhill station and a larger new station near Love Lane could handle everyone heading South into the city centre and beyond. Love Lane also has the added benefit of being only a 10 minute walk from the ground so is ideal for those with mobility issues.
Looking on google maps both Kirkdale and Bank Hall are around 1 mile away from Sandhills but Moorefields is almost 2 miles away from Sandhills. It makes perfect sense to have a station between Sandhills and Moorefields and the area around Love Lane near the Titanic is slap bang in the middle making the distance to both around 1 mile to reduce pedestrian traffic.
The additional station at Love Lane/Vauxhall doesn't even need to be a regular stop. They could just open it on match days and when there are major events (e.g. concerts) and have it solely to reduce the pressure on stations like Sandhills, Bank Hall and possibly Kirkdale.
