Sandhills station

Shocking statement that.

The ground was never in doubt.

Did he think it was just being built for a laugh?

Even if it was in doubt, you still go ahead and implement an effective plan to transport the fans safely.

He’s done the same with the trains. He’s placed all the blame on stadler when he was warned the new trains weren’t ready, and did the same with head bolt lane.

Saw his arse when given actual responsibility.

The constant references to Grand National crowd management is doing my head in.
The 2 situations are completely different as not everyone arrives at Aintree on the train and it’s a bigger station plus there’s car parking on the course.

The Club and the Fans forum need to be calling him out publically for any false utterances like the one he came out with today.

It's the arrogance from the fella over this, like you say Aintree is a completely different Environment with different variables.

It's his typical playbook, always someone elses fault.

Blamed Stadler for the trains not being fit for purpose. Yet months before they came into action he was bragging about how this train technology has never been used anywhere in the world before and we are the first to use it. I guess he quickly discovered why nobody else in the world uses battery-powered trains, when they continue to break down every day.

Stadler don't have any issues anywhere else, they were built to the correct scope and he bragged about the batteries being able to go on that line to Chester or Wrexham, never mind headbolt lane which probably has issues every day.

You're right he bragged about them none stop being state of the art etc yet hasn't come out to speak about the serious issues they've had across the network.

Paraded those glorified bendy busses recently too which has gone quiet.

I saw a role being advertised for a project manager to introduce a new payment system on Mersey travel network, this was a year and a half ago and still nothing. Some stations have serious issues getting tickets printed, I've seen the devices at stations which I don't think anyone has used or know how to? Another fail.

The pharmaceutical company that backed out which was guaranteed billions into the city was another thing he was banging on about, now they've decided against it, where is he? In contract Burnham would be furious and come out and find out why etc.

Should be chased out before he causes more damage to the LCR.

He’s blaming the club now!

What a load of nonsense, the stadium was already paid for, a change of ownership shouldn't hold up transport planning it's not like new owners were going to come and say "nah we don't like this nearly completed stadium that's cost £700mil, we're going to tear it down and build it somewhere else"

He’s blaming the club now!

Not only that, but this comment is a not so oblique reference to the Hillsborough tragedy: "The idea is to ensure safety of fans, that is paramount, it is first and foremost especially in a city that has some history in ensuring the safety of fans".

This feller is unspeakable. Using the Hillsborough situation to cover up his own failure.

A horrible rag and bone man who's desperate to keep his £100,000 p.a. salary.

Ild urge anyone to vote for that Lib Dem feller in any upcoming LCR mayoral election. There's no difference between the Starmer Tories and them anyway, so just cast a ballot to see this egregious Kopite rat out of office.

We have been under Tory rule for 14 years, but yeah it’s all the Labour fault for everything that’s happened and should have been fixed in the last <checks notes> ~231 days?
