Sandhills station

Did anyone get the shuttle bus to/from Commutation Row? Would be really interested in anyone’s feedback

My 80 year old Dad isn’t going to be able to hike all the way back into town so parking around Lime Street and taking the shuttle bus might be our best bet…
Same going to do the park and ride bus they have from bootle. Think be best option think even if they do sort out the trains will always be the most popular option. Also think might get closer drop off with the bus

Just spoken to my older brother & there is a big meeting next week with the Liverpool city businesses who have had double yellow lines put down in the last two weeks as it's already affecting their trade now ...

The leader has rumoured maybe an electric pylon tram service without needing track on the roads to BMD & the station will be upgraded on this thread for match day ?

It's still late in the day to be planning all this - do you think the City council would treat the other lot with any less compassion ?

Remember we got welcomed with open arms with BMD when EX Mayor Joe Anderson a blue was involved, but that turned sour to say the least ....

There was mention of the trackless tram in the Echo some time ago but I guess it's years away. And how can Sandhills station be upgraded given that it's a single platform on a viaduct ? LCC and Merseyrail have had 4 years to think about this and just come up with a few cattle pens.

It’s that closer drop off which is key for us

We’re spoilt at Goodison with being able to park so close
I used to have to catch two buses & walk 1/2 a mile or more, but I was young then - then car wise it was always a long walk & hard to park nothing is perfect, but Goodison was built over 100 years ago ....

This is a brand new 21st century ground access for home fans & away fans should have been planned way in advance .....as soon as planning permission was granted .....

Come back Joe Ando...all's forgiven.

The Anderson years were the Golden years.

They’re all con merchants on the council. We don’t tend to elect the best and brightest, we elect the biggest gobs.

The city has long lagged behind other regions for redevelopment because our councillors are all happy being big fish in a relatively small pond. The majority of development since 2008 has been private investment that would have happened with or without the council, and much of the rest was EU funded, but the council still try to take all the credit for anything that happens.

It’s why seemingly simple things like sorting out transport to a new, state-of-the art stadium in a previously neglected area is left to the last minute and will be an avoidable cock up.

The council lost out on proper investment from government with the crap acceptance of a deal that gave us a second class ‘metro mayor’, they cocked up the investment for a new tram system, and now they’ve failed to sort out parking, trains and buses for Bramley Moore.

The club should invite all of the councillors to visit the new stadium, then take them out through the back door and walk them all into the Mersey. Grifters one and all.

From the BBC article. Weird to talk about turning queuing for the train into a fanzine experience with a stage, food trucks and big screens. Surely better to just run the trains more often?

Won't ever happen but...
I'd rather we delay the move to get infrastructure in place and sorted.

I'm absolutely aware it won't happen and should have been sorted 12 months ago but it's taking the whole gloss off the move for me.
