We all know how important it is to have a good atmosphere when you're playing at home. Indeed, several of our players have credited the electric atmosphere at Goodison last Wednesday night with our comeback against the RS. We also saw the 12th man effect at play against Bayern in 1985, against Wimbledon under Walker, against Man Utd the year we finished 4th under Moyes and against Crystal Palace under Frank.

To those who have already been to our new stadium on the banks of the Royal Blue Mersey: do you think BMD is conducive to a good atmosphere? And is there anything we can do to make a good atmosphere more likely? Other than winning football matches, of course!

That steep stand and the enclosure should keep the sound of boos in and around the pitch, never worry.

Maybe getting to your seat before KO. This is something that Arsenal was well known for especially for 15 minutes after HT.

I think its better than any big new stadium can be. Iconic location helps as does the design features highlighted. A goal last night would have got it going a bit. Ultimately everton on the front foot will always get the crowd up.

Someone shouted early in the first half and it echoed, which tells me that when it's loud it will have a great sound.

It sounded loud as the players walked out to Z cars on the videos I saw, so I don't see any reason the atmosphere won't be great when you add 5 x more people to it.

On the stream, it sounded echoey at various times, which it will in a 3/4 empty stadium, but it does suggest any sound will travel and be largely kept in the ground. There could be some raucous atmospheres when we’re up and running at full capacity, performances permitting.

Ridiculous that they split it in two and didn't have the back part rail seated.

You can't judge last night's game v a full house effort.
The 'blue wall' as wools call it, will be full of the vocal element.
Just need a leader a la street end wurzeĺ to start "sing you barstools sing!"

Ridiculous that they split it in two and didn't have the back part rail seated.

If the back part was rail seats, they couldn't have the rake that they have. That would mean that the back row would be further away, either leading to a worse view or reduced rows to maintain closeness. It would also reduce the imposing nature or the stand.

All in all, it's not ridiculous at all.

ye not sure on the decision on that, should jsut be one steep stand all railed

did anyone get the feeling that there could be unofficial standing in the south upper? or will it not be to the liking of the ticket buyers, or ultimately too steep to stay standing?

i dont like sititng down at the match and feel like south lower will all be season ticket holders

I left the game at 85 mins. probably still about 8k fans inside. The noise even with 8k for the pen was loud outside. With 50k inside it will be very loud.
